Behind the Script:

Initially in the Reichenbach Fall scene when John and Sherlock are on the phone with one another John asks Sherlock “are you being serious or are you being camp right now?” This line was cut after a focus group reacted negatively to it - citing the dialogue as “out of place and bizarre.” 

Caving to the input and making that change is still one of my biggest regrets when it comes to the show.

One of the hardest parts of writing gay anything is that they (often) use the same pronouns. Balancing names and pronouns so that I'm not overusing either of them is maybe THE hardest part of writing for me, because if you use 'he' too many times in a row you'll lose track of who's doing what, but too many names is repetitive and awkward to read!

Listen the simple mundanity of daily life is only soul crushing if you let it be. There can be so much beauty in doing simple things every day to carve out a space as your own. You just have to inject some whimsy into it. Sing your favorite song while you do the dishes. Make a game out of folding the laundry. Dance while you sweep the floors. Try adding a different spice when you make the same dish you make every week.

Yes, the daily effort of keeping yourself alive and fed and clean is made up of a dozen little tasks that must be tackled again as soon as they are complete but the fact that they need to be done is just more proof that you exist in this world! You're alive, and you have an impact on the environment around you, and how wonderful is that?

If Sisyphus is happy, it's not because he has to push the rock everyday. It's because of what he does along the way to make the rock lighter.
