sam is more interesting to me when he's wrong<3 he's literally an unreliable narrator. like Everything actually becomes infinitely more interesting and delicious bc he's wrong. he sees dean as this one dimensional caricature ladies man 'yessir' solider w/ no thoughts of his own and then we get to dig thru layers and subtext and uncover the real and complex dean<3 he thinks he's a monstrous freak who's inherently impure and bad and actually it's like no sammy, you're actually good<3 and there's nothing inherently wrong or Different or bad (or special!) about you, you were just dosed w/ demon blood as a baby same as many other babies, ur gonna be fine<3

the bon jovi scene from the season 3 finale still makes me cry sorry. sam's like okay so you know how you're about to fucking die and dean's like haha I veto this emotional moment shhhh we're not talking about it. instead I offer you bon jovi masculinity cowboy song! and sings along for JUST LONG ENOUGH that sam laughs and relaxes and starts singing too and then Dean stops singing. drops the show. eyes on the road. we the viewer realize that was just smoke and mirrors special effects for sam's benefit. to make him smile. and distract him. to give him one last good memory. we the viewer know this but. Sam doesn't. he's still singing.
