I feel like it's important to point out that even if Tommy was brought back and not portrayed as Buck's LI... I'd still ship them together.

I'd read fanfiction, enjoy fanart, talk amongst like minded people... and I would want bucktommy canon but I wouldn't threaten crazy actions if it didn't happen because for me, they'd still be my fanon ship.

This is why it's weird for me to see all the bucktommy hate. Buddie fans have groups, they have a shit ton of fanfiction, art, edits, manips... the only thing missing is an onscreen kiss and I don't really understand why that matters for a fanon ship.

You can enjoy media however you like. No one is taking fanon buddie away from you. I wish you all could see that.

This is a rare post but it's important. I just want to say, thank you, Shu, for saying this. ❤️ it's very appreciated and I'm happy that a bnf said it. I obviously use this blog to document the unhinged takes I see on X but I wanted to showcase this in a genuine way to let you know that I'm not deliberately skipping things just to try and show every buddie fan in a negative light. So, again, thank you for this tweet.

I wish we could all come together for things like this but I'm not naive.

I love Tommy for treating Buck like an adult and respecting not only Buck's but also his own boundaries. He's patient and understanding, never blames Buck for being a bit of an idiot on their first date, but he won't be shoved back into the closet. It's even in the little things, like when he doesn't pretend to like the coffee Buck got for him. I'm grateful that Buck has someone who is his own person.

Buck prioritizing his relationship isn’t weird or out of character. "He should’ve been with Bobby." Bobby was with his wife and his kids, Buck didn’t need to be there. "It didn’t make sense for—" It didn’t make sense to you, but what you would have done isn’t important because none of these characters are self inserts. "Tommy’s daddy kink topic was weird and came out of nowhere." It was initiated by Buck. They are two consenting romantically involved adult men who are both bonding and showing attraction towards one another in an intimate space. There’s absolutely nothing weird, misplaced, or inappropriate about that. Again, these characters are not self-inserts. What you would have said or done doesn’t matter. Both characters expressed how they felt in the moment on screen, so the narrative that one of them was even slightly uncomfortable at any point is untrue.

Stop projecting.

It's never too late to find your person but Tommy's in his forties, and it took him a long time to find his footing and feel settled in his own skin. Now he has a routine, a job he loves, his hobbies, a few friends; he's comfortable and he's learned to love himself and his own company even if of course he'd like to share his life with someone. It's just that he hasn't found the right man yet, and damn if he tried. Dates after dates, failed relationship after failed relationship, but no one seemed the one and at some point he just gave up because he loves his life as it is, even if he goes back to an empty house every night. And yeah, he rationally knows that love can surprise you any time, but at some point you just convince yourself that it's not gonna happen. At some point you think that you're going to be on your own forever.

Except that one day he gets a call from Howie and he's ready for a risky operation, he's ready to fly a fucking helicopter into a fucking hurricane, he's ready to face his captain and the consequences of his actions. What he's not ready for is to meet a pair of blue eyes and feel warmth spreading around his ribcage, what he's not ready for is to trade a few words with Evan Buckley and instantly grow fond of him. What he's not ready for, is to reevaluate everything he thought he knew, because he was ready to spend the rest of his life on his own, and then this gorgeous boy showed up and smiled at him and he fell in love, realizing that yeah, Evan Buckley is the one.

AN: this probably doesn't make any sense but I'm nearing my thirties and I kinda lost hope to find my person and I also watched a reel on this topic so I projected this feeling onto Tommy because I think the same happened to him BUT then Evan Buckley showed up and he found the one.

I'm normally a leave Tim and Co out of fandom drama, but I'm about to send them every screen shot I have. Even considering creating an anon IG and flooding their tags with it. Anon wants to try and trigger us, okay, well everyone will see Buddie fans for what they are.

I completely understand this rage and the desperate feeling of being overwhelmed by this shit. I do.

THEY are already doing that shit. With our posts, with actor's posts (though only the old stuff, nothing that happened within the last few weeks).

Please don't. I'm thankful you reached out on anon first. Pretty sure the constant harassment is overwhelming you and trust me, love, same.

But we can not and should not drop to their level. I'm not saying to ignore, I think we should shout it out and make things known among the fandom. Check in with others. Ultimately, be kind and don't exhibit the same toxic behaviors because that's how this shit spreads.
