Quentin was just eating his lunch, which consisted of a sandwich and a bag of chips. He was used to being alone and didn’t expect anyone to sit by him. Not until he heard a voice asking if they could sit here and someone pulling a chair up next to him. He looked over and realized it was Eleanor. He listened to her talk and then decided to say something.
“Some cheerfulness would be nice for a change, how to find that cheerfulness is the real question though.” He gestured toward the other people in the cafeteria.
“You’re right, it is pretty dead and depressing.”
@quentin-tranmer
Glancing around the slightly empty cafeteria, clutching the small Greek salad in her hand, trying to find someone she could sit with since all the Bees were currently elsewhere and she honestly couldn’t be seen eating along in the cafeteria, it was unheard for a Bee. Biting her lip when she spotted Quinn, that was his name, right? He seemed nice enough. Striding confidently over to him. “Mind if I sit here?” She asked, pulling the chair out and sitting in it before he could answer her and opening her salad. “This place is honestly like a funeral home after everything that has happened.” She muttered, rolling her eyes. “We need some cheerfulness, surely everyone can’t be miserable forever.”

“You haven’t heard about the missing girl or what happened at the musical?” She asked in disbelief, shaking her head. Had they really kept all the disasters that had occurred in their small town so quiet? “I mean and we had all those people who went missing all those years ago too.” She added with a shrug. “This place isn’t as picturesque as everyone thinks, don’t let the brochures fool you.”
“No, I hadn’t heard about any of those things.” He said shaking his head.
Quentin was surprised that there were more bad things that had happened in this town that he didn’t know about. What if he went missing next? He didn’t want to even think about it anymore.
“Guess those brochures sure fooled me.”

With so many thoughts running through her head, she couldn’t really think of a proper sentence to string together. “Not rude,” she commented, trying her best to keep up a friendly front. “I understand that. Especially with everything going on…” She paused. “What’s alright, these days? How can anyone be ‘alright’ anymore?”
Quentin was glad that she didn’t find it rude and that she understood. But once she said the last thing she said, he got worried for her.
“I guess you’re right, how anyone can be alright these days is beyond me.”
“I know what it feels like to not be alright, it isn’t a good feeling. But not that many people seem to understand anymore.”

Thomas stood behind the other boy, casually popping peanut m&ms into his mouth - he was working on the blues right then. “Aren’t you jumpy,” he observed with light amusement when the guy turned around and made his demand.
Quentin hadn’t quite thought about it, but at hearing the guy saying that Quentin was jumpy. He realized he was pretty jumpy today. Which probably comes across as rude to other people. But he couldn’t help it.
He stood up and turned toward the guy, feeling awkward and embarrassed.
“I guess I am, not much can be done about that though. Just a jumpy day.”

Woodlynn was walking back to the bench where she left her bag of course someone was already sitting down ,Jumping when he spoke “No,just grabbing my bookbag”She said holding it up
He hadn’t noticed that the backpack was back there. When he saw her holding it up, he blurted out the first thing that came to mind. As awkward as it sounded.
“That’s a cool backpack. Never seen one like that before.”

There was a lot going through Emerson’s mind, and she could hardly make much sense of it at all. She found herself walking aimlessly, still trying to find a sense of purpose or some energy now that the news about the students’ deaths had broken. “I – sorry, I didn’t mean to… or… whatever.” The words barely made sense strung together, but nothing else could come out. “I was just… in my own head.”
“Sorry if I seemed rude. Just get a bit jumpy when people are behind me.”
He thought for a bit and said: “Are you alright?”
Quentin felt bad for having snapped at her.

Eleanor shrugged her shoulders, honestly death and disappearance was starting to become a regular thing around this town, maybe history really was repeating itself after all these years. “It’s not the first time it’s happened.” She said softly, playing with her food slightly but still not having the stomach to touch it. “I mean we’ve had disappearances and stuff before but this is kind of the first time that’s happened so close to us all.”
“That’s a bit concerning to hear. I didn’t know that something had happened before. Makes you wonder how safe this town really is.”
He thought for a bit, biting his nail nervously.
“Makes me hope that nothing else happens.”

Eleanor nodded her head curtly, watching as he stepped back slightly. “Guess we were both lost in our own little world.” She muttered, staring down at the barely touched Greek salad that rested in her lap, she’d almost forgotten it was there. “It’s okay.” She said with a shrug. “Just still getting over that stupid trip and how it ended for all of us.”
“Yeah, the trip did end pretty not so great,” Quentin replied.
He looked still out into the distance.
“Can’t believe those two students really...died.” He said nervously.
His mind almost wandering to different scenarios and how they could have been killed. He shuddered at the thought.

“Didn’t mean to spook you, man,” Porter clarified, holding his hands up, palms facing Quentin in a submissive manner before he sat down. “You looked quiet, peaceful,” he explained, “Sorry to fuck it up, I was just kinda looking for a piece of that,” he continued, “Quiet, I mean. I was looking for some quiet, some peace. Not a piece of you,” he added, in case there was any confusion.
“Mind if I sit? Just hang for a bit?” he asked, it was a weird request and he knew it but he had nothing to lose.
Quentin nodded “It’s fine you can sit and hang for a bit.”
Quentin was normally by himself most of the time, so he didn’t mind the company. He scooted over so the older teen could sit down.
He hoped that there wouldn’t be an awkward silence now. That would be worse than being alone.

Quentin was sitting on a bench outside, writing in his journal. When he felt a presence behind him. He quickly closed the journal and put it away.
“Can I help you with something?” He said turning around toward the person.
He didn’t like people sneaking up behind him.

Quentin looked in the direction the guy was looking but couldn’t tell which girl he was talking about.
“I have no idea which girl you’re talking about, there’s a lot of them around here.”
He thought for a moment and then said: “I actually just forgot what we were talking about.”
“Woah.. Who’s that? Is she single? … Sorry, what were we talking about?”

Quentin was so busy writing in his journal that he didn’t notice he had been standing close to the girl. He stepped to the side and let there be a distance between him and her.
Closing his journal and putting it in his messenger bag, he said: “Oh sorry, I was so busy writing in my journal, I hadn’t noticed I was standing so close.”
He folded his arms over his chest looking out into the distance.
“Enjoying your lunch?”
Casually sitting by herself on the bleachers as she watched the few students running their laps around the field, her lunch sitting uneaten in her lap as she observed those around her. She often ate lunch out here, by herself where she could step away from it all and not feel so alone when sitting with all the bees, at least here she could out rightly be alone by choice. Glancing up when she felt a shadow casting over her. “What’s the matter?” She asked curiously. “Never seen someone eat their lunch before?” She laughed.

“I don’t think it’d be any of us – the rangers have us pretty well supervised, all things considered. It’s probably someone who lives out in the woods…. some sort of classic movie-type killer.”
“True, it probably wouldn’t be any of us. But now it has me wondering, who died and why don’t they just send us home. I mean they are wasting time having a bunch of rangers supervise us. When they could be, I don’t know investigating more?”

Eleanor continued to stand over the male, wondering if she should perhaps offer first aid or at least the first aid she had learned from her brief time here. “You sure?” She asked, not really caring if he was alright or not, he was conscious so that’s all that mattered. “Seemed like a nasty fall.”
Quentin figured he better get off the ground before bugs or worse crawl on him. He stood up and brushed some dirt off his pants. “Yeah, I’m fine. A fall as small as this couldn’t cause any damage. So no need to worry.”
He smiled just to make the girl know he is okay.

“Why would the police show up for a dead animal? The only reason that makes sense would be if the dead animal was a human. Do you think they found a body or something? That’s awful.”
“Yeah, I’m thinking it is probably a dead body at this point. I mean what else could it be with the cops showing up? Which is pretty scary, hopefully, there isn’t some kind of killer out here.” Quentin said.

Star was out wondering the grounds of what she was allowed to at this point,Noticing the boy with curly black hair fall back on the rock she couldn’t help but let out a small laugh before walking “Oh my ,are you okay?”She asked trying to help him up
Quentin was lucky he hadn’t fallen off a rock that had been by a cliff. Imagine that a young guy falling off a rock then falling off a cliff, that would have been more embarrassing.
“I’m okay. Not so sure about the rock, it looks pretty weirdly shaped.” He said, allowing himself to be helped up by this girl.

Eleanor had been standing with a bunch of the jocks, a bored expression on her features as she forced herself to listen to their boring conversation about something or other, something sports like. Glancing over and stifling a laugh when she saw a fellow camper fall from a rock. Not bothering to excuse herself from the group as she walked over to them. “Are you okay?” She asked, staring down at them but not bothering to offer to help them up.
Quentin had fallen from the rock onto his back. So he was surprised to look up and a see a girl staring down at him, asking if he was okay.
He quickly sat up, rubbing his back. “Yeah, I’m okay. Just need to make sure not to sit on any rocks anymore.” He laughed.
