Finished!
Just like that 6 months have flown by! We're so lucky to have had this time to explore Australia. Then to be coming back with another family member on board, makes us even more excited for the future. We look forward to settling in a new house, school and job, visiting all of our family and to pick up our new puppy Arnie x

Coral Bay
Had a great few nights in Coral Bay. Lots of fishing, 4wding (we got bogged twice!), sitting on the beach and even a glass bottom boat ride to see the Ningaloo Reef.

Exmouth
Stayed at an excellent cheap spot on the beach called Osprey Campground. We wished we could have stayed longer but it was booked out. We fished at Yardie Creek and the went to Learmonth Jetty. Jaidyn was raking in the fish catching heaps of Silver Brim which we have frozen for Nanny Julie for when we get back.

Karajini National Park
It was very hot but we managed to see a couple of gorges. We have been a bit spoilt with gorges and have seen lots of them across the country.

Broome, Port Hedland and on our way to Karajini
I didn't get to take many photos but we loved Broome besides the mozzies! We chilled out for a few days and the boys got to play with some local kids for hours. The beaches were beautiful but unfortunately it was advised not to swim as there are sightings of the Irukandji Jellyfish in the water and they are extremely dangerous. We visited Port Hedland and Jaidyn got to catch up with his old friend from Bakers Hill, Brandon. We tried out hand at Mud crabbing again buy didn't have much luck at all. In fact Clive cut his foot open pretty bad on a rock. It bled so much that he ended up passing out! Lucky I got him in the chair before he fell. It's finally getting cold enough for a bonfire at night. Boys are stoked!

Clive got to cross 'Catching mud crabs' off his bucket list. He had a ball! We also saw another Boab prison tree.

Kununurra
We stayed a few nights here. Did a few walks, tried our hand at crabbing and fishing without much luck and visited Lake Argyle. We drove to Wyndham and saw some gorges and a Boab tree that was used for the Aborigines. We've learnt so much about the Aboriginal history doing this trip. The treatment of them has just been inhumane and shocking :(

Litchfield National Park
We visited the National Park and saw the termite mounds and had a swim at Florence Falls. Was beautiful. We them went to see the Katherine Gorge. Today we have driven a fair way and have now entered Kununnurra and back into WA. Can't believe we've been away for 5 months!

Bali!
Yep that's right. We just had to surprise Keith for his 50th in Bali and so glad we did. We had a fantastic time with the family and totally enjoyed the break from cooking and washing each day! Jaidyn lost his teeth there and the tooth fairy even brought him rupiah!

Northern Territory
We stayed at Devils Pebbles free stop for the first night. All I can say is it was bloody hot! We has a swim in Madaranka hot springs and then entered Kakadu National Park. It was also very hot! We did a few walks and saw some Aboriginal paintings. Clive and Jaidyn were lucky enough to meet a man who took them fishing on his boat. They came back with a few barramundis and a Black Brim. They even got to spot some crocodiles! We had lunch at Daly River in a lovely little pub.

We had to do two days of massive drives to detour the road closures in QLD. We ended up driving back down to Townsville to get across to the NT.

Port Douglas
So we made the decision to leave Cairns and head to Port Douglas. Cyclone Nora was hitting the west coast of QLD and therefore there was rain expected. Well that was an understatement! I've never seen rain like it in my life. We were stuck in our caravan for a few days as roads were closed as they were so badly damaged and flooded. So lucky that we left Cairns as the caravan park that we were at got so badly flooded that caravans were floating out of the park and the SES had to save people.

Cairns
Clive fell in love with Cairns. With all the tropical fruits and markets he was in his element! We visited Cascade Falls and we're pretty much rained on most days! The boys were stopped by some tourists who wanted photos of them!

Paronella Park- 20/3/2018
Wow! This was amazing. A man named Jose Paronella came to Australia with a dream. He built a castle for his future wife next to a waterfall. Beautiful story. We did the day and night tour. The photo is of Mitch catching a firefly. You can see it lit up. He was very proud!

Rubyvale near Emerald, QLD
So this has to be one of my highlights. Fossicking for Sapphire. Such hard work but so happy we found some! Some are even big enough to get cut. The one on the left is a green sapphire. In the morning we were visited by some Rosella's.
