Asin

Asin was born in Cochin, Kerala, India in the Malayalam-speaking Thottumkal family which consists of her businessman dad, Joseph, and mom, Dr. Seline, who practices in Ernakulam. She attended Naval Public School in Cochin, and after obtaining her Matriculation, was enrolled in St. Theresa's Higher Secondary School. After successfully obtaining her Higher Secondary School Certificate, she enrolled in St. Theresa's College to continue studying in the Arts Faculty. After obtaining a Degree in B.A. English Literature, she assisted her dad in his business (which includes software, export of furniture and antiques) and also took up modeling on the side. Her modeling assignments included Colgate Toothpaste, and Fairever Cream. This exposure got her noticed and she made her debut on the tinsel screen through director Sathyan Anthikad's "Narendaran Makan" with Malayalyee actor Kunjachacko Boban. After her initial success, she was offered Telugu movies, and warmly welcomed in the Telugu film industry. It was a smooth transition from Telugu to Tamil with the film "M Kumaran s/o Mahalakshmi". Asin starred in the original Telugu version, so she was the obvious choice for the Tamil remake, opposite Jeyam Ravi. The movie was a super hit. What makes Asin hot in the Tamil film industry, apart from her looks, is that she has teamed up with all the top heroes -- Vijay, Ajith, Surya and now Vikram, in "Maja". She speaks a wide range of languages such as Malyalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Sanskrit, English, French, and may well be the only Indian actress with a Blogspot in French. She is very active in various functions throughout Southern India, and credits her good upbringing to her parents, who she considers her role models. She was the winner of an entrepreneurial award as a teenager. She is fond of reading and has a huge collection of books. Asin, along with her mom and dad, have left their Harrington Road apartment at Chetpet, Chennai, and have re-located to an apartment in Lokhandwala Complex, in Andheri (West), Mumbai, in order to enable her to debut in Bollywood movies.

Jai Malhaar is a serial on Zee Marathi that tracks the life story of Bhagwan Lord Malhar or Khanderaya of Jejuri.

Khandoba is the avatar of Bhagwan Shiv Shankar who is also the king of Jejuri. His Pradhan is an avatar of Lord Vishnu, while Pradhanji’s wife is an avatar of Lakshmi. His first wife is Mhalsa, actually who is an avatar of Parvati.

Originally from Dhule district of Maharashtra, Sayali was born as Sayali Sanjeevya Chandsarkar on 31st January 1993.

She has done her schooling and college from Dhule. She has completed her degree in Arts from Nasik. She started doing modeling assignments during her college days at Nasik. Her 5,8” height helped her getting mane ramp shows during her modeling days.

She also entered some fashion shows and beauty pageants which helped her getting TV commercials for brands like Quikkr and modeling assignments for Swarovski Gems and Dentzz.

Prior working in Kahe Diya Pardes Sayali has worked in films like Police Line, Alibagh Bypass, Atpadi Nights. Sayali has also acted in some Tamil and Bengali films.

Sayali says she would have been a political analyst if she did not become an actress. She has done her degree in Political science and she wish to continue her studies further in the same subject.

Story Plot :

It is the story of the Maharashtrian Sawant family headed by Mohan Joshi – The younger girl Gauri falls in love and is later married with a North Indian boy named Shiv. The trailer, shot in Varanasi on the banks of the river Ganga shows the lead actress calling up her mother and reliving some memories of Mumbai.

The cast looks young with the introduction of two new actors – Sayali Sanjeev and Rishi Saxena.

It should be interesting to see how audiences accept this differently themed love story between North Indian boy and a Marathi girl, especially with the political scenario of the last few years.

Zee Marathi’s Unch Maza Zoka Awards were distributed in an event recently at Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar Hall in Thane. Senior social activist Meera Lad was felicitated with the lifetime achievement award in this function. Meera Lad has done tremendous work for underprivileged children, Adivasi schools and physically challenged people through her various NGOs.

The event will be telecast on Zee Marathi on 13 September at 7 pm. Along with Meetatai, several other women were felicitated for their exemplary work in various fields, including writer Kavita Mahajan for literature, Dr. Priyadarshini Karve in environment, Raziya Sultana in Social field, Kavita Raut in Sports. Vaishali Barye who works in Pune Corporation as a sanitary worker and Monica More, who lost her bothe arms in a local train accident in Mumbai were also felicitated.

The most touching speech was made by Pooja Ghansarwad when she narrated how she did her study in the lights of a funeral pyre. . Pooja scored 91% in her SSC. She belongs to the Masanjogi community who stays in the Smashan area. The Zee Marathi attempts to highlight the struggle and achievements of women and empower them by giving recognition to their work through these awards.

STAR Pravah, brings alive this thought, through its newest fiction ‘Devyani’. The show will replace ‘Bandh Reshmanche’. ‘Devyani’ is the story of a young college going girl whose life witnesses a sea change, as she enters the wedlock with her obsessive and uncouth lover Sangram Vikhe Patil. While Devyani is a simple girl, who believes in her father’s principles, Sangram is a complete opposite; who never follows rules in his life and is his own master. The show changes course when Sangram falls head over heels with Devyani and is hell bent on winning her while Devyani’s marriage has been arranged with Dr Namit. What happens next forms the premise of the show.

The show introduces Shivani Surve and Sangram in lead roles, while the versatile Nagesh Bhonsale makes his come back to Marathi GEC space. Nagesh Bhonsale will be seen playing the head of Vikhe Patil family, father of Sangram. The show is produced by Anuj Saxena’s Maverick Productions in association with Swapna Waghmare Joshi and Sanjay Memane. The serial going on for more than 6 years. There are many inconsistencies in the events of the serial. The additional events are still added just to prolong the story. It is difficult to come to the conclusion of the theme of story. The title "Pudhache Paaul" I.e. Next Step is correctly given as there is no references to the back steps except repeated marriges took places up till now. No body can guess how many repeated are still to be included in the future and how many deaths are still remaining in the residual story. 

This show is based on the saas-bahu relationship, retold through a young and naive girl Kalyani’s point of view. At the same time it reflects on the differences between cousins, Kalyani and Rupali. They are both opposites of each other in every sense. If Kalyani is naïve then Rupali is outspoken and knows how to get her way. It is also the story of Rajlaxmi’s search for a perfect wife for her son, Soham. On knowing about Kalyani she is convinced that she will make a perfect daughter-in-law and dutiful wife. The story marries conventional society values to modern perspective.

Absurdity, and use of provocative and instigating words should have some limits. I wonder, how the serial is being viewed by ladies. The Lead Role Player is from Maharashtra and Maharashtra has a history of honoring women whether be in daily life or on screen.

It is just disgusting to reproduce the words used in the serial aired on 24 and 25th August 2016.
