honestly, i’m pretty disappointed. Not because the song that won is trash, but because everyone criticized Italy last year because of “culture appropriation”, when that was the point of the song. He was talking about how wrong and bad cultural appropriation is, yet, netta appropriated japanese culture solely for the aesthetic and everyone is kissing her ass. The message on the lyrics might be good, but the general song sucks and the european hipocrisy is really evident.

After leader Soohyun enlisted, U-KISS released its first album as a four-member group, “LINK,” on March 21. Without Soohyun, they talk enthusiastically about the album, their determination to protect U-KISS and KISSmes (fans), and their faith in Jun who won first place on KBS “The Unit ~ Idol Rebooting Project.” Here’s the second part of the interview.

- Although I brought up the topic earlier, Jun-san won on the survival show of KBS “The Unit ~ Idol Rebooting Project”, and after April he’ll also be working as a selected member of the group UNB. What did you think about seeing Jun-san come in first place?

Kiseop: I rarely cry, but at that time I really did. During the live broadcast, when Jun said, “Kiseop-hyung, thank you ~,” my tears came as my chest ached. I know how hard Jun has worked to protect his U-KISS’ hyungs, so when I heard feedback comments, I thought, “I should do better from now on.”

- Jun-san, are you doing well now?

Jun: Of course! If I wasn’t a member of U-KISS, I think that I wouldn’t have appeared on that program. For four years since I joined [U-KISS], my hyungs helped me a lot and taught me, so I developed. At the beginning, I wasn’t sure whether it’d be a good idea to try it [The Unit], but if my hyungs were happy that I got first place, it’d be a success. So I thought, let’s try it.

- Is it because you wanted more publicity for U-KISS?

Hoon: That’s right. I think Jun felt that.

Jun: I wanted to raise the brand image of the U-KISS group.

- Do [U-KISS] group members feel any loneliness about other [UNB] members? Are you jealous of seeing how Jun is making friends with members of UNB?

Eli: Not at all.

Kiseop: Because us [U-KISS] members are friends with members of UNB.

Hoon: FEELDOG is a good friend with all U-KISS members.

- Is Jun-san different as a cast member of “The Unit”?

Jun: After all, when I’m in U-KISS and when I’m in UNB, the tension is different. Now I feel happy just to eat and talk with the four [U-KISS] members. Since I’ve only known the members of UNB for about 5 months, I can’t have the same feelings yet. But in U-KISS, my hyungs have been loving to me as their maknae, so I can really relax.

- So, where do you see U-KISS in 10 years?

Hoon: As a super big star.

Kiseop: I’d like to be considered an amazing group, if I say U-KISS in the whole world, in Japan, and in Korea.

Hoon: I’ll keep on working forever without giving up and keeping these members and KISSmes properly, I’d like to keep going all the way, even ten years later.

- Your activities as U-KISS and UNB and an actor will be simultaneous, so how do you manage mental and health issues?

Jun: The spiritual side is better if you talk with your hyungs. When I talk with my hyungs, my feelings are organized. Instead of talking about work specifically, I just settle down, just doing something not funny, just doing what I did today, recently doing my best. In terms of health, when you have time, you’ll be fine as soon as you go to bed.

Hoon: He’s still young.
