Energy Gain Determined by Aspiration Level

I hate how cheaper beds give less energy than more expensive ones, so I've used the same energy gain for any bed mod by Marhis for the longest time. But recently, I've started to feel like it's too cheaty. It makes my sims always sleep like logs!

So I came up with a solution that adds variation for all beds alike.

This mod entirely ties the energy gain to the sim's aspiration level. The lower the level is, the slower the energy bar will fill and vice versa; sims with their aspiration level well on the green side or above likely wake up refreshed.

Makes sense to me that happy sims sleep better than those close to the aspiration failure! The scale of the energy gain is about the same as between the cheapest and the most expensive maxis bed, so it's still well balanced too.

Just like Marhis' mod, this mod also makes children gain energy at a slower rate than older sims, to prevent them from waking up too early. Their aspiration level still affects the energy gain but the effect is smaller.

Just wanted to show a neighborhood that I'm working on in TS2. Honestly I'm a bit embarrassed to post this because I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to be doing...but it's fun!

Sometimes I think the paintings in TS2 are limited. As cute as the photos of dogs and cats are, they're just that - photos. So, to take matters into my own hands, I realised that the absolute perfect solution would be to add all of the Sims 4 paintings to the Sims 2. And what do you know, @noksims had extracted all of them! More info and download under the cut.

I also wanted a few extras, and while perusing reddit I found some AI oil paintings of various sim-related things such as some grilled cheese for Natasha Una, or beautiful Cassandra Goth paintings for Darren Dreamer to lovingly paint. I also added my personal favourites, paintings by u/mete0ryt on reddit. They do fantastic, sim-related oil paintings.

All of these files have been resized to approximately 400x250 (or close enough if I could), which is small enough for your game to load the paintings while still keeping decent quality. As a side note, some of these paintings are either square (so they should be approximately 400x400) or landscape, which means you MUST have a variation on Anoeska's Painting Easels Superset if you don't want them to be weirdly squooshed. I use @fracturedmoonlight's Painting Preferences, as you can see in the preview.

There are 385 (!!!) paintings in this folder altogether, so it comes out to 58mb. You can of course pick and choose, as they're only PNGs. I have separated them into size categories - i.e, if it is named "mabstract" it is a medium abstract painting in TS4, whereas if it is named "simp" it is a small impressionist painting in TS4. Did I do that one for the joke? Kind of. Some of the paintings are unlabelled in the archive I got from noksims, so they're named things like a simple "I don't know". You can refer back to their post if you're confused! Some of my favourites are the 'sketch' paintings, I think they look great in an artists room as little anatomy sketches they have cluttered around. As you can see, I've paired them above with a conversion from the Sims 4 Artist Studio kit.

Do not put these in your downloads folder! These will go in your EA Games/Sims 2/Paintings folder.

Happy Homecrafting

A new season, a new name for homecrafter projects.

Today I bring you all sorts of loot. I only have the swatches to show you but these walls and floors have been showing up in my previews for other projects. First, you see the last of the House of Hackney painted walls. Second is Herringbone Parquet floors.

Two 2-tile mural designs from the National Trust 3 collection. There are four colorways of the top design and six of the lower design.

Next up, several sidings and shingles designs from 3dDiva. The shingles look excellent in game. The last swatch shows five designs by Sophie Hartley. The files come with swatches.

This Mod allows you to choose non-default clothes for your sims babies.

You can search and download non-default clothes specific for this mod on google and here.

1) First you download the Chris Hatch’s Plan Baby Outfit Mod and some clothes like this.

2) Place them on your Downloads Folder. Open your game and you find the mod as teddy bear.

3) Select the teddy bear. 

4) At first you will see an empty catalog. Don’t Choose the toddler category.

5) Stay at the adult category and choose the male/female icon to make the clothes to show up. 

6) Choose the outfit you want and save.

Joel, evidently, doesn't care because he autonomously gets his First Kiss with Mary. 🥺 Very sweet, but I can't help but think he's trying to cop a feel with that hand.

Some of the higher-up's at the school must have noticed the spring (heh) in Mary's step, because she comes home with a promotion!

But none of that matters! :) New outfit!

Not that there isn't another, larger reason for Mary's improved mood. Money is her motivator, after all, and 10k is nothing to sneeze at!

Spring is finally done! Besides Will's rounds getting messed up, everything went very well. I'm having a lot of fun now that all three of my founders are settled (more or less) and are starting to shape their neighborhoods. It only gets more interesting from here! See you soon!

Yes, Amanda was the one catching bugs in John's living room. His door is perpetually stuck open due to the paper delivery. I'm just glad that it's only "pretty" bugs that can get in.

John finds other ways to entertain himself.

Amanda: *pointedly ignores him for the rest of the date*

Yay! Another hit on a chance card! At least his suit fits his job title now.

Maybe I should upgrade some of the cheap-ass fixtures that I bought when he first moved in. I think he only had ~200$ after moving in. The budget was beyond tight.

Oh yeah, John also came home with a cold. He's too busy hacking up a lung to appreciate the new clothes I bought him. 🙄 Ungrateful sims.

Another day, another successful chance card! Kinda shitty that the CEO only gave him 100$ for planning, organizing, and closing an entire project on his own. Never-mind the pain in the ass that comes with working with the government.

In celebration, I had John invite a random college contact for a date. Turns out that Sue Fey, a cheerleader, ticked enough boxes for John to fall head-over-heels for her. That, or it's just the ~magical romance of spring~

John: (internally) DATES. DINNER DATES. KISSING. DREAM DATE. MARRIAGE. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

Okay then John. Say no more. Go ahead. :)

John: Wha- Me? For real? 😲

John: Um, Sue?

Interesting wants you have there, Will. I usually try to fulfill wants from the first slot to the last, focusing on power wants/ones I have locked. You can call Alvin to patch things up and Mary to get your groove on later, that skill point is a RARE one.

A new mirror bought and Will is forced to stare at himself for the next few hours.

Will: Um, I guess it would be . . . a good thing if you . . . (looks at smugged note on hand) gave me a propulsion?

*sigh* Will, please. I didn't care if you lived like this, but you have a child now.

Nice! Having friends (that are only friends 🙄) has perks!

Still, it's been a few days and Will is a romance sim.

Not cool that she lets Will's ex in, but he behaved himself so I'll let it slide.

He also left when asked so that Will and his date could do the do.

Alvin: I can't just want to see you? *laughs* It's been a while, and I miss you.

I'm glad Alvin took the surprise news well. Not that Will plans to go out of his way to include Alvin in his or their child's life anymore than he has already. At least he knows. :/

Alvin: -so you want to stay for a while or what?

Will: *not listening* uh yeah yeah. whatever.

While waiting for his ride home, Will trauma dumps on the poor teenage cashier.

Alvin also drops off a date reward. It's very Will, so I keep it.

Time off work means more time for dates! Will has Jack back over to show him he knows how to treat a sim.

I hope he doesn't mind being observed, though.

Everything is progressing smoothly, which is good. I don't know how he would survive solo if he got hit with a hard/difficult pregnancy.

I've got 7 wood base recolors and 34 cushion recolors of The Glassic Chair - aka chairlivingumwineglass!

For the wood base colors: I am using Dynamite, Depth Charge, Shrapnel, Safety Fuse and Time Bomb by @pooklet, and Nesert and Honey by Io aka @serabiet.

For the base texture I used @pforestsims's retexture, as it is a lot nicer than the one it came with. And their Shine Removal Kit! Because why would a fabric cushion be shiny?
