Canadian Rules Quong
uOttawa Quidditch made its own quong table! Thanks for the inspiration and the measurements, guys - since most of our tournaments this semester have been in mud, we added our own little muddy patches to it.

For those of us who aren't familiar with the subtleties of beer pong, could you explain the rules in full? I realise there are a lot of house variations, but what are the basic tenets?
Oh dear lord, explain beer pong, that's a huge question. Here's a VERY general summary:
Two teams of two.
Two ping pong balls.
Teams take turns throwing both balls into the other team's cups.
If a ball lands in a cup, that cup is removed, and its contents consumed.
If both balls land in cups, the throwing team gets to throw again.
Whichever team removes all of the other team's cups first, wins.
There are SO many other random rules, but those are the main ones you need to play successfully.

Note
what dimensions did you make the table?
8 feet by 3 feet, with foci 3.7 feet from the center, measured across the long radius. Yeah, we got super mathy when building this table.

Rules Update!
Chasers can be saved for when you need them. For instance, if you sink a Chaser cup, the other team doesn't have to drink it right away; they can save it for with a shot. Therefore, it's strategic to sink the shots cups before the chaser cups, so that the other team has nothing to chase with.

Da Rules
So Quong seems to have taken on a life of its own after the picture was posted. I've already seen new tables, which means people are playing. So I figure, why not let you guys in on the rules? It's pretty simple really, just a few changes from your standard beer pong.
You play with shots instead of beer. Yes, this means everyone is extremely shit faced after a game or two.
The cups are labeled as follows: 3 C's, 2 B's, 1 K, 1 S, and 3 are left blank. Yes, the letters do correspond to the positions, and the blanks go in the hoops. We used sharpie, but we're planning on just getting the correct colored cups for next time.
Each position has its own shot: the Keeper is melon liquor, the Beaters are Kraken rum, the Seeker is a snitch shot (Goldschlägger and Bailey's), the hoops are a 10-point shot (combination of all alcohol in the house). The chasers are just chasers, whatever your team wants to use.
The Chasers, Beaters and Keeper are placed in a 6 rack triangle in front of the hoops. You can arrange them however you like. The blank cups are placed up in the hoops. The Seeker can be placed anywhere on the table between the mid line and the keeper zone line.
Bounce shots can't be blocked, and are not worth double. This way, hoops don't get broken due to drunken flailing.
Everything else tends to follow standard beer pong rules. Sinking both sends them back, bounce backs give you a behind the back shot. You can add any house rules you like! Keep me updated to any awesome ideas you come up with!
