If there was a juice/cocktail bar on the walk between Eat Street and the park, it offers people more space to spread out when Eat Street get’s really busy, and also offers another reason for people to visit Northshore when Eat Street isn’t open. Another concept would probably be needed, however, to allow people to hang around and stay for more than just drinks.

Project Idea 1
11/03/2019
An idea for a project at Northshore
Creating a juice bar out of a random white shipping container found on the “river walk” [see image]. If it were to become a juice bar, a variety of techniques could be used to make it stand out, especially at night, and add to the colour that Eat Street provides to Northshore. A juice bar is urban and resembles health, and this idea for a project also implements the use of materials already at the site. Having a juice bar in this area would attract people with more fit, healthy lifestyles, during day and night, and also others who need a refreshing drink after a hot day, or a warm night. Having this juice bar open for 12-24 hours, for 4 days during the week , would allow people of all demographics to enjoy a nice refreshing drink while out and about at Northshore.
There would be a lot of risks involved with this project, and a large selection of the stakeholders would be affected.

A few locations and existing objects at Northshore that could be used to create one of two projects, perhaps both.

Analysis of Brief
10/03/2019
The client, a division of the Economic Development Queensland within the Queensland Government, as well as other varying stakeholders (such as residents, construction workers, business owners, tourists etc.) is looking to develop a creative precinct that consists of community programs, and also a recreational precinct, that follow the guidelines provided. The new establishments will need to be original and creative, and able to engage a diverse audience, as well as responding to ethical issues of sustainability, through repurposing materials. The success of the establishments will be marked by how much they increase general visitation to the Northshore site, as well as improving awareness of the brand, delivering a cultural connection, while creatively reflecting on the history of Northshore. The establishments should push Northshore to become a memorable site, providing an emotional involvement to the Northshore brand, allowing audiences to feel immersed within Northshore, and creating a creative, unique experience that will provide real benefits and value to the local, and broader, community.
