Would anyone be interested in falsettos stickers ? :D

I’ve recently printed out around 50-60 stickers, I will try to be making more designs as well !!

I will be hand writing all of them so please bare with me, as well as the fact that this first time I’m selling stickers.

• The pink triangle represents the silence = death symbol that was and is still used today to speak up about AIDS. Edit: The symbol was used first as a way to mark queer individuals in concentration camps during World War Two, facing harsher abuse. This symbol was then reclaimed during the 70’s where a gay rights organization launched a campaign to then reclaim it.

• Whizzer and Marvin’s iconic pose, with the quote, “Everything will be alright.”

as the end of the musical, a way of saying that life is shitty and there isn’t anything you can do about it. people die, sometimes people don’t get their happy endings no matter how hard they try.

but also as a call to action. the reagan administration ignored the aids epidemic, ignored the way the LGBTQ+ community suffered. this is where we take a stand against this, to prevent more unnecessary deaths, to fight back.

i always thought will looked distraught in this scene bc it brought up memories of his mother’s absence, but it’s that & SO much more. to start, there is an octopus plush in the photo. octopuses are referred to as the “Mother Teresa of the sea. Octopuses symbolize generosity, selflessness, and self-sacrifice.”

the idea of motherhood/self-sacrifice is further explored when jack asks why all of the victims have defensive wounds except for mrs. turner. will answers, “there’s forgiveness.” again, he’s confronted by the selflessness of motherhood - how mothers perform the ultimate sacrifice by giving birth. will himself yearns for the warmth of a mother’s love and can’t understand the children who abandoned it. in the eyes of a child, mother is god, and these kids are defying/rejecting god.
