the quick and dirty canon divergence cheat sheet.

has been doing ballet since she was a child and keeps a lot of emphasis on it in her life. this is very special to her and she practices multiple times a week, while she understands some members of the glee club are frustrated she doesn't have to attend practices for choreo every time, she doesn't want to use it in performances.

home schooled both so that she could pursue the arts as well as worries about their family being harassed given the attitudes of lima. mostly completed with tutors rather than just her dads. this is the main cause of her being so socially awkward and intense with people. she grew up with her friends being the same kids attending competitions as her and so her attitude was expected and sometimes even admired.

was spotted for the cheerios in her first year at mckinley due to dance background, it didn't work out mainly due to her struggle with working with others.

a very stressed person. nearly every moment of her day is scheduled to allow her to make time for her extracurriculars and glee. her days off are scheduled weekly and she will not give them up under any circumstances, she already goes through three stress balls a week. this actually gets stricter after graduating since she has to make time for college/performing and hero business.

switches between vegan and vegetarian semi-often. due to her schedule, sometimes the vegan diet isn't quite enough for her body so she will loosen up. the only absolutely no in her diet is meat.

there are always a few stray animals in her house. this includes cats, birds, and any other small animal that needs a temporary home. besides this, she fosters cats regularly.

yes, she's selfish and a not great person. but she also does care incredibly about the glee club and her friends. whilst she did sabotage sunshine due to her manic spiral following shelby, she did not send her to a crackhouse.  

finnchel were not dating at all during season two. they are best friends first, anything romantic is second to that. they're just codependent.

is very aware how privileged she is that her family is in a good financial place. her fathers often make donations to the glee club and she will make sure everyone has the resources they need for the club. also let finn stay with her when the hummel-hudsons moved in together.  

leaned on glee club a lot after everything with shelby happened. wasn't completely comfortable sharing her diagnosis with the glee club before that given how many of them bullied her however decided to tell them what was causing her episodes given everything that was going on. her decision making in season two was largely down to this.

has bipolar disorder. she was diagnosed before attending mckinley and attends therapy regularly. prefers to rest on keeping a diet and schedule, but does take mood stabilisers as well.

biggest divergence, ofc, is that the glee club gets caught in an alien attack on new york during the season two nationals. the danger of the situation causes latent abilities (mutant or meta, verse depending) to activate. while they hide it initially, they debate using their powers for good during their senior year. in new york it's finn that largely spearheads the effort to become superheroes. her theatre career gains tract a bit faster than their superhero one, but by her mid twenties her secret identity is known as the siren.
