Evangelion: Asuka Langley inspires a spectacular figure

The manufacturing company Hobby Max announced the launch of a 1/7 scale figure based on the character Asuka Langley Shikinami (Ver. RADIO EVA, Part 2) from the Neon Genesis Evangelion multimedia franchise, specifically from Rebuild of Evangelion, for the month December 2022 in Japan.

The company describes the product as follows: «From the official 'Rebuild of Evangelion' project, 'RADIO EVA', which started in 2008 with the concept of 'Evangelion blending into everyday life', comes the second in a series! of figures based on freshly drawn illustrations! To celebrate the opening of the “RADIO EVA STORE @ Shibuya Parco”, illustrator Mai Yoneyama has created an Asuka figure. She has a graceful pose, a cold expression on her face, wavy hair, and a richly textured outfit, all of which add to the atmosphere of the figure! '

The product is approximately 250mm high, will be priced at 20,350 yen (around US $ 180), and is available for reservation through various distributors, such as RADIO EVA itself (link), from December 10 through an unspecified date.

Also available is the Asuka Langley Shikinami figure (See Radio Eva, Part 2, Original Color), with exactly the same technical specifications and price, but changing the colors to monochrome to match the original illustration.

Neon Genesis Evangelion Synopsis

In a post-apocalyptic world, the last remaining human settlement in Japan is the heavily fortified city of Tokyo-3. Fourteen-year-old Shinji Ikari is taken to the headquarters of NERV, an underground organization run by his estranged father, Gendou. He requests that Shinji become the pilot of an "Evangelion", a colossal android built to fight the monstrous and destructive alien creatures known as "Angels" that wreak havoc on the planet and threaten the survival of the remaining human race.

Although reluctant at first, Shinji is persuaded by the idea of ​​reconciling with his father and agrees to help in humanity's dangerous endeavor against the alien threat, as a pilot for Unit Evangelion-01.
