My honest take on the Sabrina carpenter controversy:
Her album cover is not the beginning, middle, or end of feminism. She is merely an individual woman doing what she wants. I’m not too familiar with her actual platform, but I don’t regard her as a feminist nor do I expect her to live up to my ideas of how a feminist celebrity should behave.
This is not a bad thing.
Now personally, I don’t like her. I don’t like highly sexualized images of women nor do enjoy hyperfemininity, so despite her majority female fan base, I’m not one of them. But again, I don’t mind her album, her music, or her career. She can do what she wants.
Note: I am old enough that I never watched her on Nickelodeon or Disney or whatever she was on. I had no idea she was a child star and it was only in the last year that I heard about her for the first time. So her hyperfeminine and hyper-sexual image wasn’t jarring for me since I only ever saw her as an adult celebrity. The first time I actually saw a video of her still freaked me out because her heavy makeup look just made her look unrelatable and kinda creepy to me. But that’s my own personal bias.
That sums it up

When people suffer from lung cancer, they get treatment. When people suffer from obesity related complications, THEY GET TREATMENT!!! idgaf that they consented up front, and your idea of what consent is is reprehensible. Consent is active and ongoing, at any time consent can be withdrawn, thus making sex or pregnancy unwanted. Don’t force me to live according to your morals just because you believe in a sky daddy. Fucking forced birther, fuck you
Calling pro life people “forced birthers” is wild to me. Because the pro choice moment, especially the women, really really want to remove their own responsibility when it comes to getting pregnant. Sex is always a two way street, unless of course rape is involved. It takes a man and a woman to agree to having sex for a child to be concieved. If you use protection, you are less likely to get pregnant. But there still is a chance. If you don’t use protection you are far more likely to get pregnant.
Even if you take all the measures and precautions, you still choose to do the act that is the only way for a woman to become pregnant naturally. So consent to sex does in fact equal consent to pregnancy. I cannot smoke 5 packs of cigarettes a day without consenting to the risk lung cancer. I cannot eat McDonald’s every day without consenting to the risk of obesity and other major health problems. So to suddenly say that consent to sex isn’t a consent to pregnancy is wild to me. If you don’t want to get pregnant there are a couple of very simple solutions.
1. Get your tubes tied.
2. Don’t have sex with anyone that you don’t intend on spending the rest of your life with.
Stop murdering babies by the millions because you refuse to take responsibility your own poor actions.

Just an extremely Normal thing to say
Reminder they want to increase the budget for ICE from 3.5 to 45 billion dollars.
Reminder the majority of that will be for building new detention centers.
Reminder ICE are *currently* detaining tourists who can pay for a plane ticket home and people with visa issues that were already resolved, because they have to make quota so Trump can brag about the numbers going up.
Reminder most of these people were already in the immigration system - that's why they were easy to detain.
Reminder this is all at taxpayer expense.
Reminder these are people.

i think it's an incorrect and frankly reductive to believe cisgender people all feel comfortable with their gender and feel like men or women. many do i am sure. but how is the label cisgender politically or sociologically useful if it means "person who is completely comfortable and happy with their sex and gender" as opposed to "not transgender". like it would be such stolen valour if i started calling myself transgender just because i don't "feel" like a woman. because what does "feeling" like a woman even mean. like do not assume gender is natural and innate and something some people have and some people don't as opposed to like. a violent system that punishes women + trans people + anyone who doesn't conform to it lol

If I have to see Disk Horse about those "granddaughters of the witches you couldn't burn" bullshit one more time I'm going to kill myself.
A woman was charged with abusing a corpse for having a miscarriage on her toilet after getting no help from the hospital after 2 seperate visits. A woman in Texas couldn't get an abortion even though the fetus wouldnt survive and went to the news for help and the attorney general himself told every doctor that anyone who gives her an abortion will have their license revoked. A woman in Georgia just died after being denied an abortion after sitting in a hospital for 22 hours.
Meanwhile your average man is becoming more conservative because he thinks women are hoeing around too much but he's mad that he still can't find a wife.
We are the witches, right fucking now, and we are being burned alive!
Jesus fuck!

'We Can Bury Anyone': Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine (Megan Twohey and Mike McIntire and Julie Tate, The New York Times, Dec 21 2024)
"Last summer, as the release of “It Ends With Us” approached, Justin Baldoni, the director and a star of the film, and Jamey Heath, the lead producer, hired a crisis public relations expert.
During shooting, Blake Lively, the co-star, had complained that the men had repeatedly violated physical boundaries and made sexual and other inappropriate comments to her.
Their studio, Wayfarer, agreed to provide a full-time intimacy coordinator, bring in an outside producer and put other safeguards on set.
In a side letter to Ms. Lively’s contract, signed by Mr. Heath, the studio also agreed not to retaliate against the actress.
But by August, the two men, who had positioned themselves as feminist allies in the #MeToo era, expressed fears that her allegations would become public and taint them, according to a legal complaint that she filed Friday.
It claims that their P.R. effort had an explicit goal: to harm Ms. Lively’s reputation instead.
Her filing includes excerpts from thousands of pages of text messages and emails that she obtained through a subpoena.
These and other documents were reviewed by The New York Times. (…)
Mr. Baldoni was best known for the CW satirical romantic dramedy “Jane the Virgin.”
Wayfarer provided the resources for bigger ambitions. It was bankrolled by the billionaire Steve Sarowitz, who is co-chair of the studio with Mr. Baldoni.
They and Mr. Heath, the chief executive, are all deeply involved with the Baha’i religious organization, which promotes unity, peace and gender equality.
Mr. Baldoni has presented himself as an ally to women, writing books, co-hosting a podcast with Mr. Heath and giving talks on toxic masculinity. (…)
She claimed Mr. Baldoni had improvised unwanted kissing and discussed his sex life, including encounters in which he said he may not have received consent.
Mr. Heath had shown her a video of his wife naked, she said, and he had watched Ms. Lively in her trailer when she was topless and having body makeup removed, despite her asking him to look away.
She said that both men repeatedly entered her makeup trailer uninvited while she was undressed, including when she was breastfeeding. (…)
As the film release neared, Ms. Lively and other cast members informed Sony and Wayfarer that they would not do any appearances alongside Mr. Baldoni.
So did Ms. Hoover, the author, who had her own dissatisfactions with him and had become more upset after he told her about Ms. Lively’s allegations, according to text messages from Mr. Baldoni and Mr. Heath.
By the first week of August, Wayfarer and Mr. Baldoni had retained Ms. Nathan, who had worked with high-profile clients including Mr. Depp, whose ex-wife, Amber Heard, accused him of physical abuse. (…)
Three days later, Mr. Baldoni texted Ms. Abel, flagging a social media thread that accused another celebrity of bullying behavior and had generated 19 million views. “This is what we would need,” he wrote.
Ms. Nathan soon floated proposals to hire contractors to dominate social media through “full social account take downs,” by starting “threads of theories” and generally working to “change narrative.”
“All of this will be most importantly untraceable,” she wrote. (…)
When Ms. Abel wrote to her Aug. 4 that “I’m having reckless thoughts of wanting to plant pieces this week of how horrible Blake is to work with. Just to get ahead of it,” Ms. Nathan replied that she had spoken off the record to an editor at The Daily Mail.
“She’s ready when we are,” Ms. Nathan wrote.
A flurry of articles followed the Hollywood Reporter piece. Many made it seem as if the only rift was over creative control.
Some journalists had gotten wind of complaints about Mr. Baldoni’s behavior, but none of the most serious ones were published.
“He doesn’t realise how lucky he is right now,” Ms. Nathan texted Ms. Abel. (…)
It is unclear exactly how Mr. Wallace operated.
There are references in emails to “social manipulation” and “proactive fan posting,” and text messages cite efforts to “boost” and “amplify” online content that was favorable to Mr. Baldoni or critical of Ms. Lively.
“We are crushing it on Reddit,” Mr. Wallace told Ms. Nathan, according to a text she sent Ms. Abel on Aug. 9.
The next day, one of Ms. Nathan’s employees texted, “We’ve started to see shift on social, due largely to Jed and his team’s efforts to shift the narrative.”
Ms. Nathan wrote to Ms. Abel: “And socials are really really ramping up. In his favour, she must be furious. It’s actually sad because it just shows you have people really want to hate on women.” (…)
On Aug. 16, Ms. Nathan shared the Daily Mail article headlined “Is Blake Lively set to be CANCELLED?” with references to ‘hard to watch’ videos and a ‘tone deaf’ promotional Q. and A.
“Wow. You really outdid yourself with this piece,” Ms. Abel responded.
“That’s why you hired me right?” Ms. Nathan replied. “I’m the best.”"

Somehow, the YouTube algorithm got the idea that I wanted to watch commentators mock fat women and I kept having to block the entire channel and content till the algorithm finally got the fucking point: that I did not want to watch content designed to mock the suffering of fat women. It pissed me off to no end
I wish feminists understood how fat womens existence is treated and that all the sexual assault and harassment is thrown towards us just as much as any other woman, it is done in the most fat fetishy way and is exactly why yall cannot recognize when fat women are being sexually humiliated or even fully violated. 1. Yall think any attention we receive is a blessing and 2. You equate sexual violation with sexual attraction instead of seeing sexual harassment and abuse for what it is, power and domination.

“Make up isn’t about men! It’s for me!”
Make up is how we assure men they’re the default. Every default setting is reserved for men. Everything default in humans is the boy version of things now. A resting face is male. A smile is female. Textured skin is male. Flawless skin is female. Small, normal eyes are male. Big eyes are female. Colorless lips are male. Colored lips are female. Bushy eyebrows are male. Shaped eyebrows are female. Plain clothing is male. Pants are male. Good quality is male. Cotton is male. Covered up is male. Costumes are female. Skirts are female. Poor quality is female. Polyester is female. Naked is female.
Responsive is male. Quiet is female. Alive is male. Inanimate is female. Active is male. Passive is female. Curious is male. Stupid is female. Wanting is male. Desire-less is female. Self interested is male. Discontented from self is female.
Everything about masculinity can be summed up as “what is normal and neutral for all humans.”
Everything about femininity can be summed up as “marking women as ‘other’”
The entire point of gendered differences is to mark men as the default. Their thoughts, feelings, perspectives, health symptoms, needs, perceptions, and priorities are the default. Even when a woman recounts a story a man wasn’t present for, his account of it is seen as more reliable. Because he is who we default to. She is “other.” Toilet paper is provided because it’s needed by men. It’s default. Pads and tampons, just as important, are luxury or personal items. If anything, annoying to have to see because they don’t represent the default state. The presence of something female that doesn’t please a man is seen as something out of place that needs to be cleaned up and removed to restore life to its default, male state.
Make up isn’t about beauty. It’s about men hating the idea of women being as naturally occurring as they are, and having a right to our own realities. It’s deeper than looking pretty. It’s deeper than sex. It isn’t about whether your make up is natural looking, either.
When a man says he likes a natural looking woman, he means, “Textured skin and dullness and natural eyebrows are MEN’S THING a woman who has those is broken.”
It doesn’t matter if you’re a goth or you’re typically feminine. The point is that you don’t resemble the men.
In countries where a veil is required for women, does it matter if her hijab is kind of ugly? Is that the point? No. Most women aren’t wearing luxury fabrics or brand new hijabs. They’re wearing whatever they have. The point is that they are identifiable as female so men can treat them differently and not accidentally like equal humans.
When women aren’t required to wear dresses anymore, we start being required to wear make up. We are always required to do SOMETHING. Look at the Elf on a Shelf type dolls where they put lipstick on the girl ones. No matter what, the boy version of things is always the natural, unchanged, normal default. And if they make a girl version it’s that. There’s an elf. And there’s a girl elf. We are a spin off of men. That’s how they see us.

This is off topic for my account, but I want to help spread this important information.
Korean women are experiencing massive sexual violence by men.
tw : rape, abuse, crime
Tumblr media
Secret Man's Telegram rooms were discovered in over 70% of South Korean schools where female students' faces were photoshopped into porn using AI.
A feminist in South Korea has mapped out schools where deepfake child pornography was created by male students using photos of girls on Telegram.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
South Korean journalists who wrote articles about telegram deepfake child sex crimes are also being blackmailed with deepfakes by the perpetrators.
Tumblr media
They also speak aggressively and disrespectfully about Ukrainian and Japanese women.
