There are gonna be people who won't like hearing this but if you want to live in a world where mixed marriages, families, and adoptions (particularly POC adopting outside their "race") aren't maligned and discriminated against, then you have got to get more chill about seeing someone partaking in something cultural that you don't think fits the "race" you perceive them as.

I think mostly what young fandom types (and I guess younger people in general) who are very very invested in the idea that “20 is still basically a minor” need to understand is that the feeling of “I’m just a child pretending to be an adult, and everyone else around me is a REAL adult” is DEEPLY universal (and won’t stop, ever, by the way, sorry!) and also is not, like, praxis.
Believe me, I get it, but the self-infantilization needs to stop, especially when you’re trying to engage in conversations about actual children and the harms they can face. Yes, it is scary to wake up and realize you’re 22 and you still feel like you’re 15, but it happens to all of us. You’re an adult. You have to deal with it.

Sorry we really went from free the nipple, take back the night, slut walks, and ending gender/sex segregation in sports being fucking milquetoast feminism 101 concepts to fucking girl dinner and "I just worry about fairness if we let trans girls play against cis ones" and "it was right of that woman to call the cops on a black man for existing near here in public during the day time because men are all violent monsters" and "radical feminism isn't transphobic we just need to kill all men including trans ones those oppressive traitors" and I will legit never be able to be normal about it. What the FUCK happened. I'd say I wonder what the feminists of my youth would say about this but I'm one and lemme tell ya I want to throw up. Go fucking read bell hooks or do something else useful please because all of this learned helplessness, gender essentialism, and transphobia dressed up as feminism is actively holding us back.

It's because a lot of them are internet poisoned younguns who think our political movement is a social club for Good People Only. Who are the good people? Whoever they deem to be Pure. You see it in everything they touch. Overtly political shit as well as hobbies like fandom. They don't think people who change their views and are trying to recover from hatred are allowed to be redeemed, they don't actually believe in redemption. They're just as punitive as the fascists, they just slap a trans or progress flag on it.
how the fuck do western leftists keep falling for "guys i promise, this time this group of people is unilaterally deserving of your hatred and scorn. they're not even really people! they deserve to be hurt and maybe even killed. leftistly :)" as if that's not a completely fucking unhinged thing for a person to think.

The unsavvy talk about furries like they're some hypersexual excretion of modernity, but drawing animal-people is one of the top 10 neolithic human activities. It's up there with collecting berries and producing clay figures of fat women.

what she says: i’m fine
what she means: Brook’s backstory has so much untapped potential. He was older than anyone else in the crew when he first became a pirate, he had a whole world of experiences separate from the Rumbar Pirates. Thriller Bark hints at him being the royal guard of an unnamed kingdom, someone of great status and responsibility, turned to a life of piracy in the days before this was considered profitable. Did he give up the role of a knight willingly? was he cast out for failing his kingdom? He was kind, energetic, goofy, emotional, and arguably the most mature person on his ship. And then he failed everyone, and spent five decades surrounded by the corpses of his friends and losing his mind from isolation. Brook is a failure to everyone who counted on him and the thought that he could avoid letting one single friend down, the tiniest thread of hope, was all that kept him going, because it was genuinely all he had left. He lost his status, his friends, his life, his appearance, his shadow and reflection, he spent fifty years losing his fucking mind and all his social skills, but he kept going because he wanted just once to not be a complete pathetic failure. but yeah he’s just a more perverted sanji i guess yohohohoho death puns n panties
