Somehow I only just realized the implicit messed up-ness of Neo Metal Sonic in IDW. The form's original appearance broke Eggman's control over Metal Sonic, giving him the agency to pursue his one true desire with a self-made plan. In IDW, Eggman has turned the form Metal Sonic used to free himself into something that makes him an even greater servant. Though he still has the desire to kill Sonic, his main objective has been replaced with acting as a replacement leader, to fulfill Eggman's dreams. Even his giant dragon form, formerly a culmination of his wish to finally be strong enough, is now taken on to allow further conquest for the sake of Eggman

I don't have anything for SA2's birthday (which I totally remember). You get to see this thing I'm still proud of in place of it.

Redraw of an older piece from two years ago. I was very proud of the fabric rendering before, but my skills have gotten better since then and I wanted to see the difference.
