Today I learned that my beautiful friend Diana was ripped from us at only 26 years of age. My heart is broken and I don’t even know what to think. I just know that my life will never be the same.

Men, if you have an anger problem or abuse the person you are in a relationship with, take responsibility and get yourself in to counseling.

It is so terrible that our summer has to end with this tragedy. Over the last ten years Diana has been with us for birthdays, holidays, graduations and everything in between. She was a beautiful person who brought so much light and good into the world. I love her very much and will miss her dearly. Her death is a true tragedy. If you or anyone you know is in an abusive relationship please seek help immediately. We lost Diana to a senseless act of violence and I just hate to think about any other young women and their friends and families going through such a horrible event.

Amtrak is the devils train

So I finally made it to NYC after a 24 hour delay. Went down to baggage claim to get my bike and it WASN'T THERE. "You lost my bike?" Followed by immediate tears. Do not travel Amtrak. Ever.

I am currently in Chicago trying to make my way to my brothers house in New Jersey. My Amtrak train got hella delayed which was a bummer. Amtrak put me up in a hotel and I spent the day in Chicago trying to buy some normal clothes for work. I would feel pretty out of place wearing my bike gear (spandex!) at the horse stables. I thought about breaking my sobriety to get really drunk but i figured boredom wasn't a very good reason. Hopefully I will get on this next train in an hour and make it to NYC tomorrow evening.

I am glad to be in a warm and dry hostel tonight. I am leaving just in time to miss a bunch of terrible weather. i bet it'll be a cold wet ride to the train station tomorrow at 6am...send dry thoughts to me
