And they were listening for the most part. We saw that they were. They were listening at the globe, at the bench when they were discussing Armageddon, and at the bandstand.

It just occurred to me that Aziraphale’s comments about “I am good and you, I’m sorry to say, are evil” and “We don’t have a lot in common… you are fallen” and “Well, obviously, you’re a demon, that’s what you do”, and of course “Get me behind me, foul fiend!” were all said with the knowledge that heaven may be listening in on everything they’re saying.

And suddenly I like him a lot better.

Something else to consider. S1 posters they are standing next to each other (no overlap) but their bodies are facing each other in some. S2 posters they are always overlapping in some way (their own side) but their bodies are always facing away from each other.

Okay so I'm so sorry but it kept me awake the past 4 months:

I often theorize that Aziraphale either went back to heaven to protect Crowley (and wanted him to go with to keep him safe), or because he had no other choice (the Metatron threatened him - coffee or death). But I understand those are just theories.

Even if we just take what happened at absolute face value. Aziraphale truly thought he was doing the right thing by offering to have Crowley reinstated. Crowley was understandably hurt because these are the people who threw him out and shunned him for being himself. But they were having a miscommunication, and had diametrically opposed views on what the right way to go forward was.

There was no point in time when Aziraphale even implied that Crowley was being ungrateful. They had an argument where they both didn’t feel like they were being heard. And anyone saying that Aziraphale was being horribly cruel to Crowley by doing this has clearly never been in a long term friendship or relationship.

I... what?

SHOW ME WHERE HE SAID THAT. LITERALLY SHOW ME THE PLACE WHERE HE SAID THAT!!!!!!!!

What Aziraphale "can't understand" at the end of season 2 is why Crowley wouldn't want to avoid certain death.

And honestly I can appreciate why that would be a source of confusion...

People really need to stop depreciating Aziraphale's anxiety.

Nothing to worry about, Aziraphale. Stop imagining the dangers. Your anxiety is unreasonable. Everything is Tip-top. Absolutely tickety-boo.

Just how dare you. Even if he doesn't know exactly what kind of problems might arise, he has every right to worry about it.

Who are you to tell Aziraphale how to love Crowley? To tell he loves him in the wrong way. His love has always saved Crowley. You think Aziraphale is rejecting him, but he's keeping him safe at the same time.

Crowley understands this and takes no offense. He realizes his impulsiveness and his need for an angel to slow him down.

I feel like this is something people overlook a lot. Yes Gabriel and Beez kinda suck as people. Yes it sucks that they got to have their happy ending and Az and Crowley didn’t. But also like. Them spending time together and falling in love with each other spurred both of them to become better people. Gabriel was a lot nicer when he got his memories back and he did things that (in his mind) were just good things to do. Beez was nicer to the demons in hell and made an effort to not just chase everyone off, she warned Crowley about the book of life threat too when she didn’t have to and definitely didn’t really like him, especially after the events of the first season.

I think it’s just another interesting way that these two are meant to mirror the ineffable husbands. They both help each other be better people. Not a better demon, or a better angel. Just better people.

A few more words about Gabriel. After B had tempted him with a song he got inspired to do something good. If this song helps me then let it comfort all the afflicted.

It's Gabriel. Doing good. Not Jim. Not Gabriel-restored-from-the-fly.

Also it's curious that B smiles at him approvingly. Maybe, they know about music more then Gab and they know exactly - repeated track will on the contrary annoy people every.fucking.day. Briliant. Crowley definitely would have approved this approach to the demonic job.

My love, both of them are intelligent even if Crowley plays his smarts in an aloof way

How many IQ points do you think one must have to bullshit his way through dangerous situations as fast as Crowley does? How smart and cold blooded (ahah get it? I think I'm hilarious) does one need to be to come up with high risk yet efficient plans under pressure and unreasonable amounts of stress?

That man's synapses happen at light speed!

Not only does he have to come up with plans in 2 seconds but he also has to play it cool all the while hiding all his anxiety and manic panic!

Crowley is the definition of nerves of steel

He would be your best option to difuse a bomb ready to explode in under 3 minutes, not Aziraphale

Aziraphale is book smart and methodical. He needs time to think and analyze stuff. Crowley thinks clearer and faster under absurd amounts of pressure and he is lightning fast about it without ever tipping his hand

If you have time to solve your problem, go with Aziraphale. You can be sure he will find the best solution there is. If you are under the clock, fuck Aziraphale. Crowley is your best option to come up with a solid plan to save your arse

This is one of the reasons they are such a good team! They complement each other like that

Do you ever think about how Crowley treats Aziraphale very differently when they first meet and when they meet in Eden?

When they first meet Crowley barely looks at Aziraphale. Barely gives him attention while Aziraphale is looking at him with heart eyes (already!!!) all the time. Crowley only starts looking at him more when he begins to explain how everything he just created will be shut down in a few thousand years.

Aziraphale clearly has a crush on Angel Crowley while he’s just admiring and being enthusiastic about his stars.

Then Crowley falls and when they meet in Eden he’s a demon. Which makes Aziraphale seem a little hesitant about talking to him (his hereditary enemy).

But more and more he starts to feel more comfortable about it and even confides the destiny of his flaming sword to Crowley (something he’d lie to God herself about!!!).

And now it’s Crowley’s turn to stare at him with heart eyes. During the entire scene he’s paying completely attention to Aziraphale, almost mesmerized by the angel.

He slithers right into where Aziraphale is. He is the first to engage in a conversation. And he’s been paying attention on him for some time already. He knows about the flaming sword. He must have seen it during the Great War. But even with so many angels there he probably just had eyes for Aziraphale.

Then it starts to rain and Aziraphale finally returns Crowley’s favor protecting him with his wings.

To me, it feels like after Crowley lost what he adored the most (his stars) he finally saw Aziraphale and started giving him the attention he felt he deserved. The attention he realized he should’ve given him from the start. Because before all that Aziraphale was worried about him, warning him about asking questions even without knowing what would happen if Crowley did. Because he cared about him more than Heaven did. Just like Crowley would understand Aziraphale more than Heaven did.

Anyway, I just love the parallels between these scenes.

The things I adore about human aus are that their problems are less looming and the stakes are less high. I also love seeing them meet in different situations and seeing them be drawn to each other anyways. Also,,,, they tend to communicate more in human aus because they don’t have eternity.

I think it’s a misconception that good omens has no need for au fics because they’ve lived through all of history that’s not necessarily what au fics are for sometimes aus are for moving one little chess piece in a character’s life and watching the whole game change
