penny has gotta be the most uncanny character in this game. playing for a long time she starts blending and looking normal, but now a good while away when I look at her.... she does not look like a real person
I also don't get it. By year 5, you can be official with whoever you choose to date. We all know what happens at the end of year 5 and how Merula deals with it. Merula throws a book at MC and screams that she wants to get out of the hospital wing.Personally, if I were MC, I would have noped out of the relationship when she threw that big ass book at me. Her actions/ words in the main storyline are made even worse if she is dating MC.
I used to like Merula. Hell, I even romanced her with my first MC. However, as the story went on and I grew older, she became annoying, insufferable, and just plain toxic.
What do you think of MC and Merula's romantic relationship?
I don’t really get it.
Admittedly, it might be because I’m not the biggest fan of the enemies to lovers trope, but the main issue here is probably the fact that Jam City failed to give Merula any redemption arc. So, in the light of the canon story, it simply doesn’t make much sense, in my opinion. MC was established from the very beginning to care about their brother a lot. Merula kept joking about Jacob being dead and never apologise for it. MC was established as someone who cares about their friends. Merula never apologised for bullying many of them. Let’s make these two characters fall in love because it’s a totally logical writing decision!
(It’s really not…)
I realise that most people shipping MC with Merula changes Merula’s character. And if you are Merula shipper – you do you! But personally, I just find Merula rather boring in general, therefore, this idea is not appealing to me either.
Also, I was kind of surprised to see this question because I’m quite vocal about not liking Merula and I don’t usually focus much on shipping. So, I thought my opinion on this matter would be pretty obvious. But apparently not. So… I hope my answer was satisfying?
So I'm doing the portrait panic tlsq and these are my thoughts so far:
In conclusion, McGonagall is ooc, and threatens to punish the birthday boy and a freshly traumatized child for something they didn't do.
Jae is rightfully upset at both the situation and MC.
MC did overstep Jae's boundaries but only did so with best intentions. They only wanted to cheer Jae up with a painting of the three broomsticks. They did not tell the paintings to abandon their posts, nor did they tell them to behave like children when politely asked to leave and return to their paintings.
I agree. The moment Jacob left MC in the vault after they just saved him, left a bad taste in my mouth. Like what the hell Jacob? You couldn't stay long enough to make sure that your younger sibling had a way out of the vault?
Also Quinn would never go to him. Game-canon Jacob is a shit brother. Again here with being uncomfortable about her dating. Weirdo
Jacob completely forgot about that hospital scene it seems.
Looks like Badeea was the one who painted the mural in the valentines day dance tlsq. MC just handed her the paint.
( For those wondering, this is from helping Liz find a new hobby in year 5, chapter 21. Liz painted a hippogriff. The bowtruckle painting was done by MC. I guess we finally found out what MC is bad at. I can only imagine what their drawings for care of magical creatures look like)
So Valhalla does address the possibility of Freya/Kratos in case anyone missed it. Mimir notes that when Kratos lamented about Freya not valuing him the same as he did her, it sounded more like "unrequited love.'' Kratos denied it , saying that wasn't the case and that there were too many reasons as to why it wouldn't happen. Kratos just cares for Freya deeply and hates disappointing her.
I, of course, am delusional and believe it was unrequited love 🤣
EDIT: It has come to my attention that I summarized this conversation a little wrong, so here is a link to a video with the conversation, among others, all compiled by a YouTuber called Happy
