i wish i could talk to p!!! i need help with this paper and she is my favourite person to talk about essay writing with. i especially loved it when it was a topic she knew nothing about because i loved the way she was still able to work with the text as a form, and it made me feel so warm and gushy inside when she walked away knowing something random about a science topic lol.

after we explained the basement leak to my mom, she asked where the stack of magnets she uses to prop up the lid of the laundry machine to let it dry was. and I turned around. But my dad was already ratting me out and told her he had witnessed me get mad and spike them into the laundry hamper. Which made me laugh because I actually had gotten so mad like 10 minutes earlier when the scissors I found turned out to have these really strong magnets stuck on, and the ball of screws and paper clips attached had contacted her stack of magnets and knocked the stack over. I actually blacked out for a second. And so I had already forgotten that this happened. But my dad saw. It's so funny that he chose to rat me out not for tossing them in, but specifically for losing my temper and getting so angry for a second I completely forgot myself. In adulthood I almost never lose my temper around them and not while stymied by a practical task like that, I wonder if he saw me again as myself as a child or if he saw a new side of myself as an adult.

today i will buy some new undershirts online for exorbitant amounts of money, i will pay my overdue spring tuition, and i will go for a walk, and this in addition to meeting my family for father's day dinner shall all be done in the name of procrastinating on this extremely important paper. thanks

dinner was earlier than expected so I reorganized the shed a bit with my dad, then we came home, I packed my car to leave tomorrow morning, and immediately thereafter we discovered there's been something leaking into the basement. so then we spent 1 hour looking into that and then we watched 5 youtube videos on plumbing to fix a totally different problem. we didn't need to watch past the third video so the last two were really more for fun. then we explained how we planned to fix the chimney to my mom, and she admitted that she thought going up on the roof was extremely dangerous because at one point they hired someone to do something up there and he came back down and explained that a racoon had attacked him and he couldn't complete the job and didn't ask for any money and just straight up left. so she didn't want us to go up there and fix it. but i think telling us this story out loud made her realize that it's probably that guy's problem and not ours.
