My name is Zahra Radwan Oweidah. I am married and a mother of four daughters (Malak, Arwa, Dima, and Mira) and a son named Majd. My husband is unable to move; he suffered a severe brain injury after an accident that left him unable to control his body. He now has nerve damage, a spinal disorder, and a blood clot in his brain. This marked the beginning of my struggle. He became incapable of working and providing for our children, leaving us without any source of income. All he can manage is to sit on the roadside with a small cart selling lupine seeds and pastries that I cook for him. But the little money he makes is barely enough to feed us.
As for me, I fell from the stairs one day and suffered a head injury that affected my left eye. Now, I can barely see out of it. My eldest daughter, Malak, finished high school last year and was about to start university, but she couldn’t continue her education because of the war. My daughter Arwa is a second-year high school student. She is an outstanding student and has memorized the entire Quran, but she too was forced to leave school due to the war. She now goes to educational tents where she volunteers to help the teachers, hoping to earn a little money to assist me with the household expenses. My other children are still too young to work.
My son Majd, also a student and a Quran memorizer, is 13 years old. He is ambitious and smart, dreaming of becoming an engineer, but those dreams were shattered by the war.
All of this suffering happened before October 7th, before the war. But after the war, a new chapter of agony began. We lost everything. Our small, humble home, which sheltered all my children, was destroyed by missiles, as was my husband's only cart, which was our source of livelihood. We were left homeless, fleeing from the bombs and rockets, seeking refuge in schools and moving from place to place, but we never felt safe. This continued for more than a month until we were finally able to escape to a safer area in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, as designated by the occupation.
Now, we are all living in a house with about 50 members of my extended family, enduring unimaginable hardship. There is no food, no clean air, no water, and I can’t find any medical treatment for my sick husband or even for my mother, who suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure. My elderly father, who needs healthy food and clean water, is also with us, but such necessities are scarce.
We have lost all hope of living or surviving in Gaza. I want to leave Gaza with my family to find safety, where my husband can receive proper treatment and undergo surgery to save his life. I want to secure a better future for my children, for my mother to get the treatment she needs, and for my children to reclaim their right to education and pursue their dreams.
Please, save what remains of us so we can live again. gaza #gofundme #donation #gazaunderattack #gofundmesupport #help #genocide #palestine #charity #success #togetherWeCan #evacuate. https://www.gofundme.com/f/rdmpcu-please-help-my-family-evacuate-gaza?attribution_id
