I used to be one of those women who spent an hour or more doing my makeup every single day of my life. Like I wouldn’t leave my house to go get a cup of coffee or do grocery shopping without caking on a full face. And I lied to myself every single day about it. I told myself, as I penciled on my eyebrows, and lined my eyes with white eyeliner to make them look big and doll-like, and used thick oily foundations and concealers to hide every visible inch of my actual skin, that I loved doing this. That I was feeling more and more empowered with every inch of my face I covered up. That somehow, if I wore a bold lipstick shade or a unique eyeliner shape, I was making a feminist statement. By making my own flawed face flawless and therefore more marketable to men, I was taking charge of my own body and my own femininity. That’s how powerful advertising and media and social conditioning and all those other forces are. I thought spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on makeup products and putting on a mask to cover my face just to leave my bedroom every single day was somehow empowering me.
And the point of this post is not to criticize women who wear makeup, I totally understand the pressure. In fact, I still do wear a little bit of makeup most days. And I still fucking lie to myself about it. I tell myself “Oh, it’s just a little concealer to hide my zits, and it’s just a little brow pencil- I’m no longer wearing makeup to make myself look like an unrealistic caricature of a woman, it’s just to enhance my natural beauty.” Which is just another lie that the beauty industry has sold women for years, that’s taking a long time for me to unlearn.
But overall as I become more and more comfortable without my makeup mask on, the more I realize that there’s nothing empowering, nothing glamorous, nothing healthy, nothing feminist about makeup and makeup culture. It really hurt me in my early teens, all the way up until now, and I want every woman who feels like she has to wear makeup, and every woman who knows she doesn’t to know that I totally support you. I’ll never be supportive of makeup culture ever again but to all those women who are still stuck in it, just know that your face doesn’t need to be fixed. Covering it up won’t ever make you feel better about it.

Hey y’all
So the reason I’ve been MIA from tumblr forever now (aside from school starting again) is I’ve been busy making a…
Radical Feminist Online Academic Library!
It’s basically a collection of 900+ up-to-date, quality, peer-reviewed academic journal articles and books (updated as of August 2016) on a whole bunch of subjects relevant to radical feminism. I’ve attached it here as a 325 MB ZIP file for now until I can find a suitable host for all of them, but there’s a READ ME pdf I’ve created that gives an abstract of each article along with tags/keywords so you can easily search for what subjects you’re looking for (plus a link in the pdf to open each file instead of searching for it in the folder!).
Feel free to signal boost and reblog this as much as possible, and send to your friends! This way we can improve the library for future versions :)

beauty care posts, “hoe tips”, lipstick feminism….fucking kill me. when you’re getting into feminism and Tumblr is full of this shit you kinda fall for it and believe that the most rebellious and feminist thing you can do is talking about sucking dick and giving “hoe tips” or whatever but like…it’s actually fucking sad? it’s fucking sad to read tips about how to keep your eyebrows on fleek while getting the d and your lipstick perfect while sucking the d? it’s actually the opposite of “destroying patriarchy” to keep male validation and beauty our number one priority? your makeup is not threatening to men in the slightest? it won’t change shit?

Some kid literally just sent me a message asking if I’m a “terf” because she wanted to reblog from me but was afraid I was a “terf”.
I said I’m a butch lesbian and I stand for lesbians first and foremost.
She said “have fun being horrible” and blocked me.
So there’s it. Terf means lesbian. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. =)

Voyeurism incidents lead to closure of Gender Neutral Bathrooms on Toronto College Campus
“The purpose of this temporary measure is to provide a safe space for the women who have been directly impacted by the incidents of voyeurism and other students who may feel more comfortable in a single-gender washroom,” said Scott.
Women, real/biological women, actually need safe spaces. Too bad the regressive left and the transcult can’t see this-they only care about validating the delusions of men in dresses.

Some stupid shiteater on this site: friendly reminder gay people had nothing to do with gay rights it was two transwomen all along because gays and lesbians were doing nothing to stop their oppression and the only country in the world with gay people is the United States and stonewall was the only thing that ever happened here :)

"Most women do I for themselves" lol if they're doing it for themselves why do they always talk about how annoying it is and how much of a hassle it is and why do they stop doing it in the winter when their legs are covered why do they only do it when other ppl are gonna see it if it's for themselves
i’m really sick from seeing all women’s legs shaved while men strut around with incredible amount of leg hair, can you fucking imagine what kind of deep ingrained fear of humiliation would cause entire female population to shave their legs, regularly, every time before they show up anywhere in public? do you realize how much hours this is in women’s lives they spend just on making sure they don’t appear “disgusting” and “ugly” and that don’t get looked at as if they’re wrong and ugly and unworthy of existing like that? fuck beauty standards, if men can walk around hairy and unconcerned about their natural features why the fuck can’t women do the same without getting hurt for it.

why do you not believe consensual sex work is possible? Do you really think the baristas at starbucks would smile and make you a drink if they weren't paid? What about being paid to scrub toilets? that's why it's called sex work and not just sex, it's work, and you get paid for work. it's not that complicated.
Baristas don’t need therapy and special programs to leave their jobs.Serving coffee and having to make your body available for sex in exchange of money are two completely different things.“Just another job” that carry the highest rates of exited people with PTSD, higher than veterans’, baristas aren’t under constant threat of physical aggression and sexual abuse or otherwise they don’t get paid.
All work under capitalism is coerced, and coerced sex is called rape.

it’s honestly so depressing when people make the ~haha well I bet you only have missionary sex in the dark at 8pm~ ‘argument’ against anyone who criticises bdsm or kink communities, and we’re supposed to view that suggestion as a hilarious extreme. We’ve reached a point where girls are literally being told (by ‘feminists’, no less!) that there’s something embarrassing, uncool, even shameful about having or wanting sex that doesn’t involve pain and degradation, and that attitude has somehow actually come to be seen as progressive for women.
