I wouldn't say I'm a lapsed cultist. I still accept the basic worldview--I believe that Cthulhu lies in R'lyeh in a deathlike sleep, I believe his Star-spawn shall one day cleanse the earth and usher in an age of shouting and killing and reveling in joy, yada yada--but I'm not, y'know, religious about it. Cthulhu has lied sleeping for, like, countless aeons, he's probably not waking up in my lifetime. I doubt giving up my Friday nights to chant "Cthulhu fhtagn" with a bunch of naked old guys in a basement is gonna wake him up any faster. I mean, if I ever have kids, I'll probably start going again, but that's more about teaching good morals.

I can't express what it is exactly but there is something about the energy of this sign that says it is lying. not just lying but lying in a plot significant way. like this feels like a sign they would put in a video game as part of the environmental storytelling about how you're in a dystopian future where you can't trust anything.

There are so many things wrong with the sequel, from a messy script to a nonsense villain to bad writing to racist sidelining of the main character. These criticisms I completely understand. But I fundamentally do not understand ppl acting like this sequel needs to have the exact same character beats and repeat the same information as the last one, as it is, and hear me out, a direct sequel that expects you to have watched the first movie, will generally not make sense unless you have, and does not expect that you hit your head between the movies and forgot everything you saw. You know, like all sequels??

Joe struggling to start the car and then immediately figuring it out when one of the guards starts firing at Nicky as he drives away?? *Chefs kiss*
Also Nickys - LOL BYE HONEY 👋 is the most adorable thing
#tog2#aside from the wave which never stops being hilarious#my favourite part of this scene is Nicky's little concerned frown turning into a smile when he watches Joe through his rearview mirror
