Zachary gave her a look as he realized that it was someone he knew. âNo, no!â he said as she offered to help and then pointed at a stool. âYou can sit,â he said. âYouâve done enough already,â he grunted as he went around the back of the bar so he could get himself cleaned up and he sent one of the busboys with a mop to get a hold on the mess while he got started on a new tray of the drinks heâd just dropped. âYouâre more of a liability moving around, it seems.â
She smiled sheepishly, feeling a bit guilty for making a mess of things as she nodded and sat down on the stool. She sipped shamelessly on her cocktail and rolled her eyes at what he said next. âYeah, sorry about that.â She said before leaning forward. âItâs been a while though, you arenât mad right?â She asked. âIâm sure youâve had your own share of party fowls.â

âYeah, yeah I got in alright, Mom,â he said to the phone as he walked towards the elevator about to head out, âJust starting shooting yesterday, I had another stunt today as well, it wasnât too bad, and no, Iâm not going to hurt myself, just relax,â he rolled his eyes when his mother started talking about his injuries again, âIâm going to get into the elevator now, Iâll call you later, Iâll try to visit when I can,â he said before hanging up and pressed the elevator button, noticing someone next to him, âMothers, right?â he let out a chuckle about her worrisome mother.
She crossed her arms as she approached the elevator and the man waiting by it, trying not to eavesdrop in on his conversation as she looked at the arrows above the sliding metal doors. Of course that was a little hard to do with the hallway being empty, so by the time he hung up she smirked and nodded. âSounds like sheâs worried about you.âÂ

âFuck,â said Zachary loudly. He was at the bar and it was one of their busier days with plenty of drunken people running about. Having run into someone who was particularly gone, heâd manage to spill a tray of drinks and most of it had somehow ended up on him. He looked down at the shirt her wore which was soaked through and he shoved the tray onto an empty space on the bar top. âHand me some fucking napkins, wonât you?â he grunted at someone nearby as he took off his shirt, his skin already feeling sticky. âThis is not my fucking day.â
âOh my god, Zachary! Hey, long time n-. . . Ah,shit.â She exclaimed drunkenly, her face pinched into a guilty expression as she looked at the mess she had made thanks to not watching where she was going. Sheâd been away for months working on a clinical trial in Boston, which it was just her luck that it had failed like most did and she was back in Eureka. A few friends from the hospital had convinced her to go out and celebrate her homecoming, which had only encouraged her to drink more than she should have. âYeah, fuck. Sorry.â She walked over toward the counter and returned with a small pile of napkins. âI could help you clean the mess on the floor if you grab me a mop? Iâm seriously wasted, canât believe I caused this big of a mess.â

âHoly mother of shitcrap,â Jason run his mouth full of foul language as usual, âLook at these anime characters, donât you think theyâre way too over sexualized for a fucking fifteen years old? Now I feel like a motherfucking creeps, I feel dirty,â Jason pointed to one of those sexy online anime game his friend just told him about, âDonât get me wrong, Iâm all for sexy cartoon, like Nala from Lion King is one piece of hot lioness, no?â he asked the person, not really joking, âWell, I was sexually awakened by cartoons. I donât think anyone wasnât.â
âWait seriously?â She asked, frowning as she looked at it the game. âYeah, thatâs . . . Pretty disgusting.â She looked back at him as he continued speaking and made a face as she laughed and then shook her head. She had to think a moment about whether she was ever into any cartoon character. âNala, really?â She repeated, her smirk growing before she laughed. âI mean I guess I did think that Prince Eric was a little cute.â She admitted. âBut Nala? Was that the first time you realized you were into bestiality too?â She asked jokingly.

jake--parker:
His back hurt like hell. The night before saw him chasing down a perp through and alleyway, jumping fences and losing focus for a quick moment that caused him to land on an errant hydrant with the middle of his back. Thankfully the runner was apprehended by his partner as in a last effort move, Jake grabbed the guyâs ankle and his jeans and brought him down long enough to get caught. His heroics were praised, but now he was forced to take a few days off until his back got better.  It was awful being on bed rest again, but worse having to be stuck in his apartment alone. He took the chance to stock up on a few things, heading down to the store as an excuse to get out as well. Heâd pushed the cart slowly, grabbing things he needed and tossing them in the cart when he was made to pause/ Heâd be damned if heâd be done in by a box of mac & cheese, but why did the son of a bitch have to be on the bottom shelf?! âHey,â He called to the person passing, voice gruff from the strain. â You mind?â He asked as he pointed to the Craft boxes.
Rachel was doing her biweekly grovery shopping and wondering down the pasta isle when she noticed a man who appeared to be in a predicament. Being a doctor she recognized the look of pain and how he carried himself and after noticing he had been standing there a while without grabbing something, she was about to ask if he needed a hand when he beat her to it. âNot at all.â She said as she bent down and grabbed two of them. âDid you want the original or the shell kind?âÂ

kentsalinger:
âUh,â Kent murmured as he looked at the forgotten item and the person walking away. He favored no entering into conversations with strangers even just small talk because of how uncomfortable he felt when conversing with a stranger. Socialization wasnât something he was great at much like his father so he tried to avoid it which did mean the only people he talked to were his colleges. It was slightly a lonely life but he wasnât upset unhappy. But knowing that they may miss what had been forgotten, Kent scrambled up from his chair to follow the person. âExcuse me,â he said as he tried to catch the personâs attention. Â
Just Raeâs luck, when sheâd stopped to get some coffee after performing a nine hour operation, she lost an earring and was totally unawares of it as she exited the cafe. It wasnât until she heard anotherâs voice that she stopped and turned toward the person, still not even realizing the missing jewelery from her ear until she looked down at what he was holding. âOh wow, thank you. God, Iâm all over the place.â She shook her head and walked towards him. âSeriously I appreciate it, I probably wouldâve gone around with the one-earring pirate look for the rest of the day.â

Noah watched as she threw her arms up and simply nodded, taking a few more notes and then closing the pad, stuffing it in his jacket pocket. âOkay, then, thank you.â He stood up, holding on to the back of the chair for a moment. He wasnât about to force any information out of her, even if he could feel there was something else she could share. They had a deal, Noah honored up to his word and he would leave with what he had so far. âYou sure you wouldnât know anything about those alibis, anywhere he could have been, anywhere you guys know he hides?â He asked just for the sake of it, while heading to the door.Â
âThank you again.â He nodded his head, that business-like seriousness still in his eyes. Her suggestion made him arch an eyebrow at her as he adjusted his badge on his belt, tracing the string of leather until he reached his gun and patted it, a weird habit heâd developed since his rookie days. âMaybe. For now Iâll just be wondering why he sent you.â He hummed, pointing at the door. âShould I walk myself out?â
Robin sighed and shook her head. âDude you donât get out of our club if itâs easy to find you.â She said, getting annoyed. He was a detective, shouldnât he knew a bit more about how gangs worked? Of course she didnât know where he would be now, if she did they would have taken him out long before Noah showed up for entirely different reasons. Leaving the gang was a sign of disrespect, they were like family and besides - Who was going to take better care of any of them? Most of them had no families, most of their friends were in the gang, and outside of a life of crime had very few prospects. Getting involved in gang violence and crime wasnât a half in and half out deal, you didnât submit a two weeks notice and quit or request days off . . . You did what you had to and if you tried to leave, you better make sure nobody would find you. âIf any of us knew where he is he wouldnât be a problem for you guys, you donât just fucking quit. He did though so Iâm betting heâs already been watching his back for a while.â She elaborated before sighing and shrugging her shoulders. âI thought you wanted a computer girl, thatâs probably what Jax thought too. Iâm not selling anyone out and like I said, he was smart enough to keep it away from the club.â She said as she stuffed her hands into her pockets and stood. âYeah, I think you should.â

kieran-rhodes:
âRight,â Kieran stated. Short and simple was his style. This woman, Robin, wasnât giving him much but he didnât care that she was keeping quiet. He was walked upon something she obviously hadnât wanted anyone to see but he had; however he had walked in on what he thought was Reina which was why he pushed and pursued after he. If Kieran had known it wasnât her then he would have walked away because he had enough shit going on in his life to get involved with anyone elseâs secrets.Â
âRobin,â Kieran nodded. Again going for the short and sweet route as she ended their conversation. Kieran had no interest at this point so with that final word, he turned back the way he was originally heading before being torn away with the glance of her face. Kieran had to focus back on his problems.Â

He shrugged.¡âThe skull? Well, theyâre a pretty well known legend, so you can see where entertainment would play with them. Plus with their veracity constantly being challenged, well, you get a lot of wiggle room to do what you want with the stories,â he said with a nod as he was pulling out a roll of paper. He laid it out on the table as she was talking about scoping out the place a little.¡âWay ahead of you,â he told her.¡âThese are the floor plans for the place itself,â he said once heâd finished unfurling the blueprints. He took out another roll.¡âThese are the plans for the security system. You know, where itâs installed, what rooms have what technology and all that stuff. At the top, youâll note the brand and security company, so Iâm thinking thatâs something for you to go off of,â he said as he pointed to the companyâs logo.¡âAnd I dunno what heâs paying. At least a few ten thousands,â said Derek.¡âI told him Iâd need to recruit someone else, so weâre both getting paychecks. I also donât come cheap. Takes time and resources to get stuff like this done.â
Robin leaned forward as he spread out the floor plans and blueprints that would give her something to go off of. She looked over it briefly before taking the security system plans a look and nodding when he pointed at the logo at the top.¡âYeah this should be enough.â She agreed.¡âShould probably make copies so I can have them too.â She added, which would be easy enough since she had a small copy machine in her apartment. She nodded again as he explained the situation with there payment and pursed her lips together. She really didnât like the idea of doing anything without knowing what she was getting from it but she trusted Derek. Theyâd been on jobs together before and sheâd never gotten stiffed in the past, so sheâd trust that wouldnât happen this time either.¡âAlright, well Iâm in. If there is any trouble with this guy and paying us though . . . Well I hope you arenât friends is all.â She mumbled. Not that sheâd go beat him up but sheâd definitely make sure he got what was coming and get the money he owed at the very least.¡âAre you planning to go in by yourself?â

âYou should stop by the bookstore too, I got mean coffee over there, a good looking employee.â She teased, although it wasnât a lie. Laughing lightly, she nodded, raising her mug. âGot chicken legs but hey, you make due with watch you get.â
Robin rolled her eyes and shook her head as she crossed her legs. âI disagree, you got legs for days. Itâs hot.â She quipped playfully with a wry grin spread over her cheeks. âYou should give yourself more credit.â She said as she shed her coat and leaned forward on the counter.

only-nyx:
She also didnât really think waking up with a bad back and a hangover was ideal. Truly, Nyx could have just let Robin try her best to get home and turn her back on her but she wasnât that kind of person. When someone was in need, Nyx was there. It was an irritating trait that she seemed to have which was why one of the first things she wanted to learn was first aid. She hadnât voiced it, the only indication that she would want a career in the medical field being a few books about it somewhere in the van - but Nyx would have been happy being a nurse. Sheâd learned how to patch herself up over the years, patch up others too. Only her poor habit was an indication that she didnât 100% care for her body but that was besides the point. She turned her head to the side as she listened to Robin from the back but said nothing. Talk of her father was rare but not something that had been off the table in the past. She would have offered her a smoke of her own until Robin had beat her to it. It was annoying⌠how important money was, especially taking it from Robin but if she was offering - whatever right? She sighed, pulling out a cigarette from her pack and reaching round to hand it to her, âIf youâre not gonna sleep though, come up front. I donât wanna stink out the mattress. Bring the basin too because Iâll be pissed if youâre sick in here.â
Robin replaced the cigarette with two dollar bills in Nyxâ hands before nodding and crawling over the center console up front into the passenger seat. Looking around briefly for a lighter she settled for the car one and pressed the insert for it to heat up before cranking the lever down on the window. âThanks.â She said shortly before grabbing the cigarette lighter when it popped out and held it to the cigarettes end before taking a drag. She reached back for the basin and brought it so that itâd be easy to reach although she didnât anticipate herself puking again, her stomach was feeling much more settled now that sheâd gotten most the liquor out of it. She sat there and took another drag, not really sure what to say to her ex in that moment. She was drunk and tired, Nyx seemed tired and fed up . . . What was she doing there? Why couldnât she just keep her cool and not make a dick of herself? This whole situation took its toll on her ego and more than anything she just wished the heavy awkwardness that lingered between the two of them would ease up. Until then Robin just didnât know what to say to her.

reina-chen:
Once again, Robin had found a way to make Reina internally cringe, scrunching up her nose at her question, âThatâs uh⌠Another complication.â She admitted with an awkward laugh but then threw up her hands, âRobin lets just say Iâm not the best with men. Iâm awful. Cursed, actually - would be the correct term. I end up shooting my ex and then the guy I end up liking later on⌠I throw his life in the toilet and turn it to shit.â It was true that her love life was particularly terrible which was why she had no intention of pulling in another hopeless being into the mix nor did she actually have the intention of getting into any committed relationship. Right now, Reina just wanted to free fall with that. Whatever happens - will. âAfter everything with Kieran I cut him off for months, I met Miles and nothing happened but⌠He was sort of the first person that I wanted to open up to but I was scared something bad would happened and it happened anyway. Anyway, we cared about each other. I think - if he hadnât been attacked - we mightâve⌠I dunno.â She shook her head, deciding it was probably best not to go down that road, âI mightâve just seen something that he didnât - it doesnât matter now anyway. Point is, there was⌠Something there at least. So I guess when he saw I was alive he didnât believe it at first and thereâs been a kind of strain between us since so much has happened. Really I should have told him straight off the back that I was alive but I thought it was best to stay out of his life and I didnât even think to tell him the truth. I think he was hurt about that. But heâs still decided to help me and⌠I donât know why.â A ghost of a smile tugged at her lips at the thought but it also reminded her of something else - something that she had been meaning to share with Robin soon. âSo I guess you can say that yes - weâre good⌠But weâre just learning how to trust one another again.â
When Robin went on to talk about her ex, the anger that lingered in her words, Reina let out a slight laugh and nodded her head, âSounds to me like you need more time.â She mused, âYouâre still angry. If youâre angry then maybe rocking up to her bar wasnât your smartest of moves. And if she was a bitch then she deserved your anger.â She shrugged, âHell, you spent seven years with her, I would have been fucking crazy. Maybe just stay away till you come to terms with her being around. Kinda doesnât matter if she followed you here right? Sheâs here now so I guess youâre just gonna have to find away around all that. Just donât get yourself killed over it.â Reina added as an afterthought, noting the almost drunk driving situation.Â
She nodded, âIt was recent. Kieran and I were crashing at a friendâs and I decided that I needed some space. I was all healed up, if we were gonna hide out here then I wanted to have a place that didnât involve Kieran in the next room, you know? Not that I totally hate him now but I didnât sign up to live with my ex, know what I mean? But Dougie - heâs honestly great.â She paused, thinking for a moment before saying, âKinda wanna get him someone to share the night with. That man deserves to get laid, Iâm just saying.â Was that too much? Probably. But it was a thought that Reina had and believed.Â
After she had explained everything to Robin, Reina didnât know what to expect. She didnât know if her own confessions would cause distrust and push Robin away or if her honesty would serve as something they both could bond with - as it turned out, the latter won out. She smiled slightly at her reaction, so simple after a waterfall of a confession. Just - shit. And shit seemed like the most appropriate thing to say right now. She nodded, âHeâs⌠Been the most disgusting person in my life. Rush is a horrible person - but Eadric⌠Heâs worse. My dad wanted to bring me back to Chicago. Eadric wanted me dead.â It didnât excuse everything that Theodore had done. He was still the mastermind of that whole operation but he was far more calculated than Eadric. Her uncle would kill because it was an easy way out which is why he thought killing Reina would eliminate the problem. âI donât know whatâs going to happen to the rest of them but Eadric? He shot two bullets in my stomach, I just think itâs appropriate to return the favour.â In a way, Reina was somewhat glad that Robin hadnât ever grown up the way she had. Sure, they lived totally different lives and there was no indication that her life was any better but at least she didnât have to live under the Chenâs dictatorship.Â
And she believed her. It was a look, a firmness in her voice that made Reina absolutely sure of her twinâs honesty. This had already become personal - being separated from a family when they could have been something of an unstoppable force. Slowly, she nodded her head, âI might hit you up on that.â She smiled - suddenly realising that she had no idea how badly she needed Robin in her life until that moment. It may have taken them about twenty-four years to get to this point but at least they were able to start now - even if this whole thing chipped at a darker and more sinister side.Â
âActually I have something that I think you might wanna see.â She started now picking up her drink again to take a swig before picking up her bag, pulling out a long brown envelope. âI did some digging - got a guy to get into some old records back in Detroit and -â She extended the envelope out to her, âI got our birth certificates.â Reina had been scared that there had been another twist to this puzzle. That they werenât Rushâs daughters at all but alas, the certificates said:
THE STATE OF MICHIGAN; CERTIFICATE OF BIRTH
Childâs Name: Reina Maxine-Louise Chen
was born to
Fatherâs Name: Theodore Chen   Motherâs Name: Ava Reeves
On: 27th November, 1991 Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Time: Â 5:41am
At: Henry Ford Hospital
the second:
Childâs Name: Helena Jae Chen
was born to
Fatherâs Name: Theodore Chen   Motherâs Name: Ava Reeves
On: 27th November, 1991 Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Time: Â 5:43am
At: Henry Ford Hospital
Reina waited patiently for Robin to read them, somewhat nervous upon seeing her reaction. It was weird - even though the resemblance was uncanny and clearly they were sisters, this simply felt like a confirmation to it all, âGuess you were right about me being older than you.â She mused before adding after a moment, âThereâs⌠Something else in the envelope too.â It was a picture. One of two baby girls, dressed the same, as if their features werenât enough. They were laughing, holding one another in the picture - barely a year old. âI have⌠No idea why Suyin sent it or how she knows Iâm alive or why sheâs helping me. Or maybe she thought you were the one who sent the guy to get the records but she gave that picture⌠Says on the back.â The message reading - I wonât tell if you wonât. - éżĺ§¨. Along with an indication of which twin was which. Reina on the left. âHelenaâ - or better known as Robin - on the right.
She had to give it up to Reina, she sounded more and more like she had lived a rather complicated life to this point. Robin of course had her own struggles but they were different and who didnât to begin with? It may seem selfish but part of Robin was glad her twin had been around the block a few times herself, it just gave them something to relate on, a mutual understanding of the world and how harsh it could get. âGirl you sound fucking insane.â She joked with a grin stretching across her cheeks. She was only joking, trying to lighten the mood, and besides it wasnât like she could talk. She did insane, stupid things constantly, for a living in fact. She was the last person that would honestly judge Reina for living her own wild life, and in a way it was another thing they had in common. âGood luck with whatever the drama in that triangle is.â She added as she took another bite of her food.
Robin nodded as she reached for her beer on the table before them. âShe isnât that bad, honestly. Things just . . . Ended rough. Mostly because I got really dickish about the whole thing but we were already rocky before then.â She explained. âLike I threw the ring at her and she left so I threw all her stuff out in the front for her to grab or whatever, I didnât care.â She elaborated before shaking her head and taking several sips from the beer bottle in her right hand. âIt was a mess and it still is and I honestly donât want to see her again anytime soon. Really hope I can manage to avoid her for however long sheâs fucking here.â
The ruffian smirked at her sisters next words and laughed lightly. âHe was cute, does he have trouble with girls?â She asked. âLike I was just teasing and I basically told him he had a fine ass and he said thanks, you too.â She said. âI mean not word for word but thatâs what he fucking said.â She laughed. âI thought it was adorable but maybe Iâm just cruel.â
Reina knew far more about Theodore and his firm than Robin did, that was certain so she believed her sister as she explained what made Eadric so much worse. She met the guy once and while he wasnât too bad at face value, she still didnât trust him because of who he was and even more importantly, who he was affiliated with. Robin would never forgive Theodore for giving up on her so easily and in a way she was glad he did. The man that raised her wasnât cut out for the task but at the end of the day at least Robin knew she had a father that loved her along with an uncle. Meanwhile her biological father and uncle were just their own kind of twisted. âThey all need to go down, theyâre twisted, sick fucks. I really canât blame you.â She grumbled. She hated Rush and his firm for her own reasons but they were still influenced by being a loyal member of Jaxâ gang.
Robin raised her eyebrows at her sister as she watched her pull out a large brown envelope and then reveal what was inside it. She was speechless as she took it and looked down at the fine print. âHelene Jae Chen. . . .â She murmured to herself as she studied it, flipped it over then again back to the front. She didnât know her middle name before, realizing her name was Helena was strange enough. Helena Jae Chen sounded like an entirely different person, she thought. âYeah, guess I was.â She smiled slightly before looking back down. Even though she learned Kennik wasnât her father years ago when she first joined her gang it was still so weird to look down at her birth certificate and for her parents names not to have even a face to go with them in her memory.Â
She looked up again when Reina said sheâd brought something else and took the picture in her hands, setting the birth certificate carefully to the side as she looked at what was presumably the two of them. They looked so happy and inseparable . . . In a way she was even angry at Jax for letting her get taken to begin with but she kept that to herself, mostly because she didnât want to dishonor Kennik by leaving him in the light of being an evil man that kidnapped her, when really he had done what he thought was right to save her from a worse fate. âTell who? How did Suyin or whoever have this?â She asked with a puzzled look before looking back down at the photographs of the two of them. "Thank you by the way . . . This is cool."Â
