vis a vis recent discussions about bottom surgery: i see people saying that tgirl pussy is "normalized" and i see people saying that tgirl dick is "normalized". i need everyone to remember the actual world we live in which is one in which NONE of it is normalized. the "normative" way for a trans woman to be is dead or a man. our very existence is radical. don't make decisions about your body on what is or isn't radical "enough" and definitely don't inflict judgement onto your sisters on what choices they're making. any kind of transition at all is the most radical thing in the universe. you are living and you are creating yourself and you are being a woman in opposition of everything everyone in the world is telling you. tgirl pussy and tgirl dick are both perfect because tgirls are perfect. it is simultaneously true that wanting to keep your dick is judged and wanting bottom surgery is judged because everything we do is judged. love yourself and your sisters

The thing about religions is that it's rarely useful to think of them as having innate political characters. At most there are certain tendencies derived from it's tenets and value systems, but these tendencies can manifest themselves in a broad variety of ways depending on the broader context. To take two examples (one broad and one narrow); Christianity's emphasis on Evangelism lent itself well to structuring and justifying European colonial atrocities right from the very start, while Buddhist ideas of Karma were used to justify the brutal exploitation of serfs in Feudal Tibet. Conversely Christian ideas of universal fraternity and kindness to the poor were employed to condemn Colonial cruelty and propose a better society by a variety of anti-Imperialist movements, while Mahāyāna ideas around non-violence to living things were often invoked by progressive Lamas as they worked with the Communists to tear down Feudalism and establish Socialism in Tibet
Now as a materialist I view idealist worldviews like religion to be inherently limited in their capacity to analyse and reform the world, but that doesn't make them worthless. Examples like Tibet or Nicaragua show how the progressive manifestations of religious thought can be harnessed to achieve beneficial ends regardless of what other broad tendencies those religions contain. Broadly speaking religion might have some inherent issues, but when problem with Reactionary Religious thought is largely that is is reactionary (often with much stronger ideological links to secular and other religious forms of reaction than with the thoughts of their progressive co-coreligionists) rather than simply being religious. And using a single isolated example of religious reaction to condemn an entire system of faith is the height of foolishness.
Now Atheism is not a religion as such; it's more an alternative framework to religion altogether. Still, it tends to occupy a similar place in people's worldview and when discussing broads school of thought much that can be said about religion can be applied to Atheism as well. Whatever tendencies you can attribute to Atheism's rejection of religious thought, they can manifest in a wide variety of ways. Atheism might not be inherently progressive but it isn't inherently reactionary either, and when it is reactionary it's closely related to broader movements of reaction. You can't treat movements like "New Atheism" as products of Atheism in a vacuum, using it to condemn Atheist thought as a whole. The problem with Reactionary Atheists is that they're Reactionary, not that they're Atheist

trans women specifically are so hated that getting mistaken for a trans woman is dangerous. thank god all of us can clear up that we aren't trans women to defuse that tension a little bit, thank god we can all fall back on not being trans women when it comes to legal matters. imagine if you couldn't do that. sure would suck if there was a type of person who couldn't do that. glad none of us are like that though.
I'm Glad We're All Equally Susceptible To Being MISTAKEN For Trans Women. Truly We Are All Faggots In The Eyes Of The State.

Love when I point out a problem with capitalism and people are like "oh so we should hate and shun technology and live like peasants" like living good is a sin we must atone to the God of Socialism by living in medieval villages. I say something like "climate change is bad" and they're like "then we must destroy all industry", I say something like "space exploration is good" and they're like "no only billionaries do that that is a sin", I say something like "electronics in the first world are artificially cheap by exploitation" and they literally, like right now, just said to me "have you heard of luddites they had good ideas".
It's never about dismantling current oppressive systems and building a better society, as socialism as the path to a communist society, it's always about getting punished. Because of your Sins.
You can teach Usamericans Marxism but you have to work triple time to unteach them Puritanism.

idealism is when youre a good person and an optimist but a little too much and materialism is when you like stuff too much and youre greedy and liberalism is when theres freedom and capitalism is when theres money and socialism is when theres state owned healthcare and communism is when you do things as a community but also stalin big spoon no toothbrush so its bad and imperialism is when a country is big and colonialism is the same thing and settler colonialism is when people outside a country live there and decolonialism is kicking all them out and xenophobia is when you wanna kick out all the outsiders and revolution is when everyone in the country turns to dust and completely new people pop up like daisies and like dictators a lot and racism is when people are mean based on race which is very real and the primary axis of oppression and the same in all countries and fascism is when theres genocide and class is how much money you have and misogyny is when people are mean to women and transmisogyny is when people are mean to trans women so there must be a transmisandry right and reading those big books is too hard i prefer my movies and propaganda is when things are lies my movies wouldnt lie to me and anti-intellectualism is that thing the nazis did when they burned books i forget which ones tho.

my mum has severe knee problems and needs a replacement. Today she was told she's too fat to be operated on and the knee specialist suggested she gets a gastric band - which also involves surgery. So my mum was like first of all you didn't read my file because it explains that I'm not fat because I eat too much second of all you said it's impossible for me to get surgery and then suggested I get a surgery about it? He then asked her her weight and height, didn't believe her answer, and made her prove it to him because she "looks fatter than that". So she was like so you also just entirely based this on looks instead of actual numbers?

Imagine a world where creationism was unanimously central both to the ruling class's conception of self and to the logic that justifies their power. Darwin's work still exists, attempts to suppress it outright would only drive interest; curious and rigorous scholars who've sought out his work can testify to its quality and relevance, and often teach natural selection in their courses. Still, there remains an understanding that Darwin is not what the people with money and power want to hear, and so when proposing research grants or attempting to climb the academic ladder, Darwin is typically ignored in favor of alternative theoretical frameworks which, while less useful, are far more likely to receive funding.
This creates a cycle where, because Darwinism has been ignored in all of the most influential and groundbreaking research, it becomes inessential. Scholars can receive their PhDs without ever having read a single work on natural selection. Despite its utility as a theory, intuition and an implicit trust in the social reality created by and within these institions creates the sense that Darwinism is, to put it bluntly "crank shit," the sort of thing you study to amuse your own curiosity and stroke your ego rather than actually trying to change the world.
Of course, none of this changes the fact that Darwin was correct, that evolution by natural selection is the primary mechanism by which species develop and change over time. However, since using Darwinist theory (or any alternative routes taken to similar models and conclusions) as anything but a garnish will get you labeled as a crank, the entire discipline of biology becomes warped around its absence. Entire fields form to cobble together makeshift solutions to the gaps Darwinism fills, further cementing it's irrelevance. Thousands of scholars devote their lives to fleshing out the forest of asterisks and duct tape holding on a vastly overstretched lamarckian and at times implictly creationist framework.
From the outside, the discipline begins looking absurd. Clearly driven by internal politics, sprawling in a million directions without any consistent underlying theory, shy on results. Despite billions pouring in year after year trying to answer some of the most fundamental questions about humanity, history, health, all lines of inquiry seem to eventually terminate in a shrug of "life is complex, how could we hope to understand everything about it?"
Okay now switch Darwin with Marx. This is the state of contemporary western social science.

Living here as a politically conscious racialized communist with a strong cultural tie to a socialist nation is like. idk. we'll be driving around the city and there are so many things that seemingly the "average citizen" does not even deign to notice which to me feel like such stark significations of YOU LIVE INSIDE OF NAZI GERMANY / RHODESIA / SOUTH AFRICA / ETC. Just like. "Regular" "mundane" things which are just everywhere and which display such a saturation with blood. The cops patrolling everywhere. The flyers and posters appealing to people's immense chauvinisms. homeless people everywhere next to one of the wealthiest higher ed institutions in the world. The fact that many of the cops are themselves racialized in a cynical attempt by the bourgeois state to enlist subjugated peoples into their ranks as collaborators such that it destabilizes the capacity for emergent political consciousness. gigantic fucking billboard advertising that joining the US military is "just like playing call of duty". it makes me feel like a crazy person.

Ranked competitive breast growing for cis men as an esport designed to crack eggs.
The rule is that if you turn out to actually be a trans woman, you're disqualified.
So all the eggs, because everyone who willingly signs up for this is obviously an egg, are constantly playing 5D chess in the Discord trying to get the rest to admit it.
It's like Death Note except instead of a notebook that murders people it's a contrived online competition
