THREE pokéballs, three pokémon.

A choice to be made; a choice that would change his life, make him stronger—- a protector.

‘ You go first, ’ he had insisted to his friend; crimson eyes settled upon the pokéballs, a war waged within his mind as rage quietly craws in his skin. It’s the memory that triggers this; a small boy, an even smaller girl, and an untrained pokémon. He could retell the memory as if it were a tale passed through generations... They were defenseless ( he was powerless ), weak members of team plasma coming to ‘ liberate ’ a young girl’s Purrloin ( he can still hear her crying ). He’d fight—- and he fought so hard—- but proved to be no force for even the lowest level grunt.

A vow was made that day; to become stronger, be the big brother he longed to be. ‘ Don’t forget me, plasma ’ he’d scream on his darkest nights. He’d become stronger, rescue Purrloin, and stop his sister’s tears.

Lost in thought, he had just managed to join his friend back in reality. A proud grin plastered upon the brunet’s features, and a pokéball carefully in his grasp. With one down, red eyes rested upon the remaining two capsules, and the clenched fist previously rested at his side now reaching for his choice. Anxious fingers carefully grip the capsule, his gaze settled upon his choice before a determined grin tugs at his lips. ‘ We’re partners now, ’ he thinks to himself... hopeful that his pokémon could sense this—- a mutual feeling, and a bond immediately beginning to form.
