thinking about how Will Treaty was almost killed by a wild boar, several Kalkara, several wargals, a rock to the head, a kidnapping, a near deadly trip across the stormwhite sea, a grumpy sea captain with a crazy grudge, LITERAL SLAVERY, a forced drug addiction, bitter freezing deadly cold, a few mean Temujai, an army of mean Temujai, (two different events btw) full on heatstroke in the desert, (not to mention the lion that almost ate him and instead took his horse) AND angry desert people that nearly killed him and his friends.

all before he even graduated.

And he still decided to do all that for the rest of his life?? to protect people??

for the longest time i believed that Ranger's Apprentice is just one of those book series that does not have a fandom. wherever I looked, there was nothing. people woupd recognise the books, but it was never to the same fan extent as books like Percy Jackson etc. but I'm so happy that this fandom actually does exist and I'm so happy I stumbled upon it on here, even if it is very small. love you guys 💚

Few years back I set a goal for myself that any scrolling I did would be on a timer. When the timer went off, I would take a break. Didn’t have to big. Didn’t have to be productive. Literally could be as small as closing my eyes and taking a deep breath.

Worst part was it fucking worked. My overall emotional state got so much better so quickly. It’s literally that easy how dare it be that easy

In the first book i find it very funny how Will is afraid of Halt and Halt acts distant towards him.Because dude :D Later on (a short while), you will be so valuable to each other that you will literally be able to die for each other and sacrifice everything you have

Crowley gets so happy and thinks it so sweet whenever Halt is genuinely smiling or laughing and actually happy about something for once. And you can't fucking blame him either that would be adorable

In the most recent trr books Flanny straight up thought about the whole thing where Halt stole bought the Temujai horses and thought "you know what, he hasn't been through enough" and decided to randomly add in that he got shot in the fucking leg while getting away.

thinking about Halt and how one of the very rare times his parents actually spent time with him was when his father took him and Ferris fishing on boats. thinking about how he got a significant concussion when fighting thorgan the smasher with Crowley. thinking about how concussions and head injuries in general are known to cause motion sickness later on in life (let alone the trauma from ferris trying to drown him). thinking about how the first time he gets on a boat being when he gets made fun of for being so motion sick. thinking about how he probably had no idea what was going on. thinking about how he was probably scared he was dying, because he knows he doesn't get motion sick so it's not like he'd develop motion sickness now, and everyone else just laughed at him and made fun of him. thinking about how he had no way of knowing he was going to be so sick and everyone was making it worse for him

also while i’m ranting about gender i always see debate about whether girls are rewarded for being tomboys or not and it’s like. actually girls are rewarded for mirroring whatever the situation demands of them. girls can’t be too prissy and refuse to play in the creek, but girls also can’t show up to girly events covered in mud. girls can’t have makeup art as a hobby or else they’re superficial, but if they never wear makeup they’re a slob and dumpy, etc. it’s not that girls are universally rewarded or punished for being tomboys, they’re rewarded for bending over backwards to always be exactly right for any given situation and punished for breaking those boundaries. so yes a classically pretty girl who cleans up nice is rewarded when she can ALSO be a tomboy. but a girl who is a tomboy all the time is definitely punished for never being able to achieve that prerequisite feminine side. this debate is over now thanks

I think we as Ranger's Apprentice fans forget just how tall Morgarath is. According to Tournament at Gorlan he's just barely under 2 metres tall. For those who don't use the metric system, that's 6'8". He's practically a giant

and has a gay lil crush on halt who canonically is shorter than average height

Alright as a fandom we all agree that Will still had nightmares about Skandia after he returned to Redmont. But I think the same thing applies to Halt. Like after Will was kidnapped,while searching for him and even when he found him and returned Redmont,he still haunted by dreams about, his kidnapping, maybe being sold to another place besides Skandia and never being able to find him again, his death, which becomes more different and painful each time, the treatment he endured in Skandia, being made dependent on warmweed,Daniel ,and his mother whose name he doesn't even know, accusing him.

And do you know what the worst part is? He found him in his dreams more than once, right beside him, alive and well, and he saw that he was there with him. He believed it with all his soul and felt relieved, but then he opened his eyes, woke up, and realized that it wasn't real.The harshness of reality was at play once again.

Imagine this happening in Gallica. Horace just wake up in the middle of the night for some reason and saw Halt sitting on the bed, fully awake, just staring at the wall opposite him. Some mornings he notices the dark circles under his eyes and realizes he hasn't slept at all during the night.

And even after finding Will and returning to Redmont, he still wakes up randomly in the middle of the night and goes to Will's room to check if it's real this time or is this too a dream
