I'm anarchist but I do agree with this take.

It’s disingenuous to act as though third world nationalist movements are comparable to that of the first world. First world nationalist movements are pretty much entirely centered around expanding the power of the country, to “return it to it’s former glory”, or to expand imperial power. Third world nationalist movements, tend to be “we need to get these imperialist powers to stop fucking controlling our markets”.

When I was an anarchist I held the idea that “all nationalism is inherently bad”, because I didn’t understand the difference between bourgeois nationalism, and the nationalism of the oppressed.
