I don't like the term horseshoe theory because [extremely long list of reasons] but there's gotta be some term out there to describe how like. you can go from a conservative upbringing where people are weird and/or outright racist about interracial relationships, and then you wind up in some stupid pocket of leftism where people look at a mixed race couple and are like "hm :/ but is he um. fetishizing your race?" and sure it's done in a way that is, yes, tangibly different than outright conservatism, but it still leads to the same isolating effect of "alright we're being judged for our relationship, and these people kind of suck"

saw a grown woman on tiktok snidely calling gen z the christopher columbus generation bc someone’s fifteen year old son ‘thought he’d discovered weezer’. newsflash every generation finds out about the music of the previous generation at some point it comes free with being fifteen. being annoying about music also comes free with being fifteen. a kid saying yeah i’ve just found this band nirvana have you ever heard of them should be a thing of joy

my most unpopular stranger things related but not stranger things exclusive opinion is that i am very bored with how almost every story that has paranormal or scifi elements eventually evolves into a story about stopping the end of the world. and i do know that apocalypse media has its enjoyers however i am not one of them and i very rarely choose to consume it so you see why it would exhaust me that so often all my horror shows and podcasts turn into an apocalypse thing
