Hey guys it's not very often I talk about my career or training but I have been noticing some recent trends in the clinic I'm training at I want to address and keep people informed

There is a new opiate/fentanyl/heroin mix on the market that contains xylazine

XYLAZINE DOES NOT RESPOND TO NARCAN

An overdose on something containing xylazine is 100% fatal, there is no way to bring someone back

If you are a user of opiates or know someone who is please keep them informed, never let someone use alone (call the never use alone hotline 877-696-1996 if you do find yourself alone), and most of all carry and know how to use narcan, you can get it for FREE at any methadone clinic as well as have staff show you how to properly use it. Keep some in your purse/car whatever, you have no idea how important it is to have it close.
