Happy birthday, Aarii!! It’s Uemura Akari’s birthday!  The leader of juice=juice is beautiful and compassionate and funny and SORELY underappreciated.  I love her as an idol and as a leader, she’s just wonderful!  So I drew her in their current tour outfits <3

i've been following one by one since the day they debuted, and i'll continue to support them forever. i honestly have such a love hate relationship with this damn group!! i love the members so so much but hate the management.  i feel like these girls are squandered in a company that doesn't care about them and doesn’t promote or spend budget on them!! so to soothe myself i decided to draw a big dedicated art piece for the members that are left.  i'm grateful they became idols, and i'm grateful to be able to make just a few people smile by drawing them. that way they'll know that even if the group didn't see much success due to lack of proper management, their strength and joy as idols reached across the world to one lonely little artist. thank you for everything, i hope i get to see you all again soon ♥

some quick wips before i go to bed - each sitting (of two) has been about ~5 hours so far, so hitting about 10 hours on this tonight.  i think it’ll end up being somewhere around 12-13 when I finish it tomorrow - i only have ririka left to draw and then it’ll be complete.  maybe ill write about what this idol group means to me in the finished post, but right now after all of this i just feel a little sad.  one by one i love you ):

The first half of my JILLASTED fanart series - i absolutely adore chika idol culture and following the fast-paced ebb and flow of groups.  JILLASTED really caught my eye and so I’ve really fallen in love with them.  i’ve had a lot of fun doing these portraits so i’m really looking forward to drawing the other four girls :3c

it’s been a long time... but we’re back!

     It’s somewhat strange settling into this; I spent a lot of time getting integrated on Twitter, learning the alg and feed and whatnot over the past six months....To the point where I didn’t think I would want to relearn another platform, even if it meant a loss of visibility.  But, billionaires doing what they do best (fuck the Muskrat) means that Twitter’s future looks tumultuous, at least for the near future.  So now, with its instability, I asked myself: why REALLY limit myself to one platform? Is it worth lazy comfort?

     With dA being a veritable hellscape (and that’s not even including the AI shit, which is a world of hot trash on its own), Facebook being largely dead for artist pages and connections due to its awful pay-to-play alg, and not much else being on the forefront of art sharing, the answer seems obvious; and so I find myself here starting a new art tumblr. 

I have to admit, my fears were assuaged as I come to realize that tumblr is like riding a bike - it all comes back rather naturally. That being said!  I have a shitton of uploading, formatting, tagging and whatnot to do.  This place will liiiiiikely be a mess for a minute, but I’m looking forward to customizing everything the way I like to - something impossible on Twitter.

I’m glad to be here, looking forward to sharing my humble art here again, looking forward to connecting with everyone.  Here’s to a fresh (re)start ♥
