actually  continuing  on  from  that  headcanon  meme  ,,  the  biggest  change  in  kirsten  is  her  ability  to  let  people  go  now.

it’s  something  she  learns  during  the  story,  because  she  always  took  it  so  personally  when  someone  would  leave  the  symphony  (  rare  )  or  when  they  would  die.  but  look  at  it  from  her  perspective  :  she  didn’t  get  to  say  goodbye  to  arthur,  to  her  parents,  to  frank  (  &  this  was  after  she  cast  him  as  lonagan  &  wrote  a  whole  play  about  his  death  scene,  &  then  he  was  murdered  like  three  minutes  later  ),  to  jeevan  .  .  ..  she  takes  charlie’s  departure  personally  because  that’s  her  best  friend,  &  she’s  the  last  person  to  find  out,  but  she’s  able  to  realise  her  selfishness.  still  ---  when  she  doesn’t  get  to  say  goodbye  to  gil,  or  she  is  separated  from  the  troupe,  or  she  clings  to  the  desperate  hope  that  sarah  will  survive  &  is  fine  &  elizabeth  is  just  keeping  her  hostage  so  the  troupe  will  perform  .  .  .  that  all  stems  from  this  trauma.  gil  is  blown  up  right  in  front  of  her.  she  stabs  the  prophet  only  when  he  directly  threatens  to  have  alex  &  sarah  disappeared.  her  trauma  revolves  around  her  inability  to  let  people  go  because  she’s  never  had  the  chance  to  say  goodbye  .  .  .  so  having  that  closure  with  sarah,  &  alex,  &  tyler,  &  especially  [  redacted  ]  .  .  .  that’s  her  biggest  growth.  her  ability  to  not  cling  &  restrict  people,  but  to  let  them  go  if  they  need  to  go.  that’s  character  development  baby

kirsten  has  .  .  .  becoming  marginally  better  at  trusting,  i  guess  ?  that  was  always  a  big  thing  for  her.  she’s  still  quite  suspicious  of  people  first  off  the  bat,  but  she’s  getting  a  little  better  at  trying  to  not  jump  to  negative  conclusions  right  away.  she  is,  unfortunately,  a  very  stubborn  person,  &  there  isn’t  a  lot  she  has  had  to  change  her  mind  about  in  the  world  after.  she  is,  sometimes,  willing  to  let  people  say  their  piece  &  to  hear  them  out  (  see  :  tyler  ),  but  for  the  most  part  her  instincts  have  always  proven  correct,  so  she  views  herself  as  being  right  in  most  situations  (  even  if  she’s  a  little  too  hardline  for  others,  like  when  she  was  convinced  severn  city  airport  had  imprisoned  them  [  she  was  literally  correct  tho  lmao  ]  ).

acting.  the  joy  it  brings  her.  arthur  leander.  shakespeare.  it’s  a  pretty  simple  answer  when  you  live  the  type  of  life  she  does.  survival  is  insufficient  is  her  motto,  &  literally  the  saying  she  lives  by  in  this  life,  hence  why  she  tattooed  it  on  her  body  at  fifteen.  it’s  not  enough  to  just  survive  &  get  through  life  --  you  need  to  enjoy  it.  you  need  to  live.  that’s  why  the  symphony  exists  :  to  bring  joy  to  people.  that’s  why  kirsten  exists.

same  as  above  !  it  will  always  be  acting,  &  seeing  how  a  simple  play  can  affect  people  in  so  many  different  ways.  she  knew  when  she  was  eight  that  this  was  all  she  ever  wanted  to  do  in  life,  &  nothing  has  changed  in  that  regard.

i  lied  i’m  not  gonna  shut  up  today  i  fear.  thinking  about  how  twice  we  see  kirsten  waking  up  next  to  someone  different  of  a  morning  :  s,  the  acrobat  with  the  shaved  head  in  e02,  &  sayid  (  canonically  her  ex  in  the  novel  )  in  e04,  &  how  both  times  this  casual  sex  just  .  .  .  Is.  it’s  not  particularly  drawn  attention  to,  other  than  we  see  her  waking  up  the  next  morning  next  to  them,  &  it’s  not  commented  on  or  made  weird.  it’s  clear  that  relationships  for  the  most  part  in  the  symphony  can  be  pretty  in  flux  &  idk  .  it  was  just  refreshing  to  see  sex  approached  so  casually  &  without  the  need  to  make  something  of  it,  or  give  kirsten  a  romantic  interest  out  of  them  /  in  the  show  in  general
