I purchased from the most lovely seller on DoA this beautiful custom Silje’s Boutique dress. It was just perfect for Lumeriel - the silver and blue is just luminous on her! It reminds me how much I need to get to blushing her hands, but.

I think these are the last winter pictures everyone is going to see from me, haha! I’m tired of coming back in with 100% soaked through pants!

She looks so queenly for a forest spirit. I suppose that’s the effect elves might have on someone.

Got a job interview! First one, just waiting for the recruiter to get back to me on a time/date... In the meantime, Final Fantasy 7 with Oak (and stupid Instagram filters) is a great way to relax. :D

So I’ve been making connections in my new doll community, and have been speaking to one lovely woman nearby who has a beautiful collection of Dollfie Dreams, among others. I’ve always wanted one, but have not taken the plunge for fear of staining. But - seeing hers has reignited my passion and she says they’re not too hard to keep from staining, with body stocking and general care....SO I’m now drooling over a DDIII body, and an 07 head. 

Of course, one of the ways I keep from just buying every cute doll in existence is by making sure I have a character for any doll I own. It makes them more personal to me, gives me a chance to express myself through them easier and prevents me from that wallet straining lust for new dolls.

BUT I’VE ALWAYS REALLY WANTED A DOLLFIE.

So now I get to think over character concepts while shuffling out my resume to anybody and everybody who’ll take it, because once I get a job, there’s now two things on my “first paycheck splurge” list. 1: A PS4 with The Last of Us (Remastered) and Final Fantasy IX. (I bloody crave a PS4 before they release FFVII Remastered! That game was my childhood and I gotta see high-def Cloud in drag!)

2: A Dollfie Dream III body with an 07 head to play the above games with me. (Psst. And Maiya who has ABSOLUTELY ROCKED every face-up I’ve requested of her, does the sweetest DD faces too...)

C’mon, prospective employers! Give me this one job I REALLY want! I’ll be great, I promise...!

Good news: Cecilia’s body got here!

Bad news: …the color match is AWFUL!

Dying inside a little but this was a risk I took. A little background: Cecilia is an Angel-Studio Amy in Translucent Pink Skin. When they released the new 2016 body it was just so gorgeous I had to upgrade her. I don’t know whether she yellowed more than I thought or the new batch of resin was notably more pink than before, but…well…it is what it is!

I’ll be purchasing another Amy head so, worst case, if this body doesn’t mellow I can get a new face up for her and still have my girl. But lord. What a disappointment on the lunar new year!

The body is beautiful though. My biggest complaint about the old body - the hands - are now delicate and graceful and for this I am very very pleased. :) Silver linings, right?

EDIT: I'm looking up older photos of my girl and I'm thinking it's just natural yellowing that's occurred. So, with any luck, the body will grow to match with a little time out. Geez I hope so!!! I won't UV coat her just yet in any case and hold off on purchasing another head. Whew...what a bummer.

Proof I may be too quirky for my own good. ^^; Full-sized version of one of the mock Playdoll magazines featured in this photo shoot, uploaded per @karla-chans-bjds request. ❤ I’ll share more “issues” later but wanted to start with Stephanie, as she was most eager for the world to see her nude. When I started making these a year or so ago for props, I tried my damnedest to remain gender-neutral in the headlines—satirical mock-up or not, it’s very important to me that all my characters feel welcome to read this if desired, regardless of the sex of the doll on the cover. And yes, I’ve made issues with resin dudes modeling, too! Tagged NSFW, obviously.

So. Second trip to Goodwill from the new place. First, the last picture: a rocking chair! Sweet! Fits Oak/MSDs perfectly, nicely made, what a lovely piece. Then I find my SO wandering around. “Still looking for doll stuff?” He asks. “Always. I found a cool chair I want your opinion on - what’d you find?” Silently, he leads me to the back of the store where this mysterious wooden box sits. I open it....HOLY CARP. There’s no maker’s mark but as seen it fits MSDs/Minifees PERFECTLY. It’s solid wood, needs a little cleaning but NO scuff marks or real signs of play. I’m GUESSING, just because of the quality, it’s from the 70s~? Maybe earlier? It reminds me of a dollhouse my grandmother had from my mother’s childhood. Definitely not American Girl stuff, too small.

This is ABSOLUTELY going to be Oak’s ‘home’ room. Her “tidy” tucked away apartment, wherever that happens to be at the time. Make some nice quilting for the fold-out bed, get some cute tattered wallpaper behind the clothes rack. Bottles of potions and herbal ingredients...forest wanderer girl’s room.

I am so excited to have found this. <3 Or have had this found for me! Plus, now she and other dolls have a little chair to sit in at my desk!

Just unpacked Oak. I've had Lumeriel and Effie out for awhile but I ALWAYS forget how fun and pretty Oak is. <3 I need to get her other wig back on her though. It'll be here Saturday...
