Sadly, I was wrong on all accounts. Turns out show Jesse is just an asshole. 😩

I have some theories on why Jesse is so angry in this scene, which as we know, is not like him. He's normally calm and collected, but is clearly pissed and borderline aggressive with his stance and posture towards Ellie. So much so Dina puts herself between them before they continue on through the Seraphite forest.

My theories:

- He's upset and angry they left without him (and/or didn't ask him to go). These two are his best friends (one an ex) that he loves dearly. Joel was probably a mentor to him in some way. If they're staying true to his character in the game, he'd have gone with them in a second bc "my friend's problems are my problems."

- He's angry they left the map with their intended destination in the theater where it was obviously easy to find.

- He found Dina's pregnancy tests.

- He probably already knows Dina's feelings for Ellie and is upset that Ellie couldn't protect Dina from the Stalkers and almost got them both killed, which to Jesse, wouldn't have happened on his watch.

- The adrenaline dump from the fight with the Stalkers coupled with the anxiety of finding the girls in the situation he did still has him amped up.

- He's pissed Ellie went against Jackson's Council (which he holds a seat on) and went after the WLF anyway. Dina refers to him as "Captain Jackson" before they leave for Seattle implying he's by the book and follows all rules. He probably feels disrespected and hurt by what he would deems is reckless disobedience.

I'm curious to see how their interaction is once Ellie returns to the theater after killing Nora. I'm sure Jesse is going to furious once he finds out she carried on with "her mission" and didn't come back to the theater to check on Dina's wellbeing (amongst other things).

Will Ellie ever play guitar for JJ after Santa Barbara? Obviously she'd need to relearn how to play and it would bring so many memories both good and bad. I could see her remembering playing fondly as if it's an old friend taken too soon like Sam was.

Or will JJ grow up not knowing she even could play guitar until one day Dina mentions something offhandedly about a bonfire night or any of the many times Ellie played for her. And then he learns some Ellie Lore

Or will JJ grow up not even knowing Dina and Ellie were ever anything more than friends. Or not knowing Ellie.
