SAMPLES FOR ZINES

I mean, very self explanatory?

SAMPLE 1: I've been proud of this piece since I made it in October -22, and it just shocks me I made this. During Zineton, I drew her nonstop and got so inspired that I poured all of my love into it. I haven't done anything this good since, but it shows what I am able to do at my best. The expression makes ME smile so hard, you can see the genuine happiness in her eyes! The lineart, nailed it. Colouring and shading, top tier. And the details? Just look at it! This piece took 6-7 hours was made on mobile with no stylus.

SAMPLE 2: I loved working on this one. I really wanted to capture a moment, a feeling, in this piece and I think I did that. The expressions are genuine, the artstyle is consistent and the shimmering parts? Breathtaking. This piece took 13,5 hours and was drawn on mobile with no stylus.

SAMPLE 3: Since I got my drawing pad for PC at the end of 2022, I've been trying out different styles. The oil paint style has been with me since the start (2021) and the drawing pad has made it easier to work with. I've been obsessed with this dress design for YEARS. In this work, I wanted to try out the dress "in-action", not only in the concept art. The shading of the fabric worked very well, and the face looks amazing in this style without having a heavy lineart on it. I also tried out to play around with the shine and made the piece a bit misty(?) and unfocused. This piece took 6-9 hours and was drawn on PC with a drawing pad.

Next collab: Zineton 2022

Zineton is a zine challenge in which you can participate regardless of your location in Finland or abroad. The weekend-long event takes place every autumn. Basically you have 48 hours to create a zine from scratch! The hosts give you a theme and mandatory elements, so you have to make something entirely new.

We participated Zineton in 2022 with teamname "Mie & Sie" ("me and you" in our local dialect).

Our theme was "Delicate delivery" and the mandatory elements were "wellness tip" and "mask". There were five themes and the mandatory elements were the same for everyone.

Our zine is called "Rakastan, kyllä rakastan" (lit. "I love, I truly love"). It is a Finnish version of "she loves me, she loves me not". Unfortunately, we haven't translated the zine in English, so I will give you a summary:

The story of the zine is about the importance of confessing your feelings. The boy wrote a love letter to a girl, before she leaves to the army. He told in his letter, he cannot keep up the act and wear the mask anymore. They have been best friends since preschool, but when he looks her, he freezes, his brain malfunctions, his legs turns into spaghetti. "An anxious person is advised to breathe, but how does that help when you take my breath away?" He has asked from daisies that does she feel the same, and now he asks from her: do you?

We absolutely A D O R E this 8-page long zine! The plot, the characters, the layout/graphics, the art??? speechless.

E handled the graphics and layouts and I did the art. We built the story together.

So uhh, last year I got interested by Sonic and stuff. Mainly due to the legendary fandubs. But hey, my art inspiration got back and I improved a lot!

All these pieces has been made between Aug -22 to Jun -23??? idek remember anymore, I haven't drawn Sonic stuff in a while.

The brown floofer is an OC I created during this time, Wellamo the Lapphund! I love her so much and I'm proud of her design (even though I haven't finished it). She truly helped me with finding my artstyle, different techniques and overall improved me with my art!

TLoZ - Art Wars! (2021) + memes

Years ago (crazy I'm able to use that tf), I joined this relaxed art challenge, where the artists were sorted in groups and had to create art pieces together! It was held in 2021 and it was season 1, the OG competition.

I was in Team Gerudo with two other members. We created 5 art pieces + doodled concept art. Every week, we got a new prompt to work with.

Prompt one: Create a character of your tribe to serve as a team mascot!

We created our beautiful Gerudo OC, Meatrice!

"The talented chef from Gerudo City who can capture anyone’s heart, along with giving them a few extra—it’s Beatrice!"

I sketched her design and rendered the rest. Another members did the lineart and flat colouring.

Prompt two: Kingdom/habitat/community/village!

“Have you ever wanted to be pe- bang ever wanted to be fu- bang ever wanted to be surrounded by beautiful women? Come to Gerudo town, where Queen Tinama will make you her slave lover for the evening!”

I made the sketch and lineart, another member did the flat colouring.

Prompt three: Canonical characters and/or events!

"Everyday, when the sun sets behind the desert, Urbosa and Nabooru will look over the queendom..."

Another members did the sketch and flat colouring, I made the lineart.

Prompt four: Inspired by songs/music!

"After many songs, we decided to choose Lauv's "I Like Me Better". The song tells about being with someone, who makes you feel good and the time flies away in a flash. Meatrice enjoys her girlfriend's, Chikadee's, company so much, she forgets her worries and burned meals." "Midnight into morning coffee Burning through the hours talking Damn, I like me better when I'm with you --- I knew from the first time, I'd stay for a long time 'cause --- I like me better when I'm with you" Lauv - I Like Me Better (2018)

Others made the sketch and lineart, I did the flat coloring and rendering.

Final prompt: A celebration between tribes! Gerudo / Korok

"Beatrice brought Royal Advisor Raureoru, Crown Princess Nolala and Queen Tinama to understand more about these mysterious creatures. Koroks had a play about Hyrule's hero and his tales. During the play, Queen Tinama seemed to find a potential opponent for combatting. Friendship works this way too... right?"

In this one, we joined the forces with Team Korok! Team Korok made the sketch and lineart, while Team Gerudo finished with flat colouring.

Overall, we had fun, memed around and created amazing art! There are full galleries of season 1 and 2, other entries and more.

I need Zelda fans to realize (especially new ones) that we haven't had Ganondorf himself as the big bad in an official Zelda game (so no Hyrule Warriors) since Twilight Princess, which was released back in 2006. That's Seveteen(17!) years since we last had the big bad as the big bad!

Zelda Creators! [EDIT Aug -23]

I've been in ZC's Community since the beginning of time. I've been part in multiple of their projects and collabs! I think this may be all of them, at least most of them.

Pictures 1-3: one of the first works within ZC was the banner for Twitter. I drew Zelda from Breath of the Wild playing with TLOZ:SS Switch! As one of the first huge projects I loved doing this and our network got bigger and better.

Pictures 4-5: I was one of the banner makers for ZC's Discord server. This banner was made for January 2022. I drew Brigo, who patrols Proxim Bridge in West Necluda. Legend says that Brigo may be based on, and named for, Kevin Briggs; the now-retired California Highway Patrol officer famous for convincing hundreds of people to not jump from the Golden Gate Bridge!

Pictures 6-7: After a long hiatus, I was honored to draw a logo for ZC Discord. The logo was used in December 2022.

Pictures 8-9: I have been in both March of the Koroks last year 2022 and this year 2023! In 2022 I drew four Koroks, and this year 2023 I drew maximum of three.

So, what right now? Right now (April 2023) I am taking part in ZC Discord's Banner for May 2023! I will make a separate post for it/repost this one with the banner. I am so excited about this one, because we have an amazing team and I've improved so much with drawing. It is amazing to see, where this community has gone already.
