My son’s first day at PLAY school 🏠Seeing cute littles playing together was so adorable! 💙 plus hearing other kids singing ‘Jingle Bells’ at the other room made me melt.. too cute! 💙 No crying for Antonio Luis and I’m happy that he gets to interact with other kids, join them and draw like he used to 🎨 So happy to see him after school.. it was a special day! 💙 Thank you teacher Carla of @littlegeorgia.academy for facilitating my son on his first day! 💙 Would you also consider sending your child to a play school to play and interact with kids to enhance their social skills? #18monthsold #playschool #socialskillsdevelopment (at Little Georgia Academy, VistaMall Sta. We have a silhoutte activity for today. I made a homemade sidewalk chalk paint by mixing equal parts of baking soda and cornstarch then I added food coloring and water to paint on the silhoutte. I first traced Antonio Luis’ body parts on the floor and named each one of them. I then invited him to decorate the silhoutte and asked him to name the body parts. This stimulates his frontal lobe, in charge of his #cognitive functions. #sidewalkchalkproject https://www.instagram.com/p/B4bXdxZAn-I/?igshid=m7vu5bl3r83n

A sleeping child is simply irresistible! Too cute and adorable for words.❤️. . Do you know that naps enhance learning? Little ones who nap have a better memory, language learning and cognitive functions. A well-rested child is a happier child. #simplyirresistible https://www.instagram.com/p/B4Yl8efgZFG/?igshid=ys4b9me1ncei

Antonio Luis at his 10th magical leap when he has the POW-ER!💥 He now understands that he has his own will, to whether or not follow the desires of others. He can now consciously say “no” and shake his head. His conscience is developing and knows how to console. His independence now blossoms in his cute little ways. His movements are now refined and stable. He loves to walk on ledges, edges and patterns that he sees on the ground. . . This is also a fun stage where my husband and I re-discover the child in us and understand how beautiful our toddler’s world is. Yup, there is an Einstein and a superhero in all of us! 🦸🏻♂️💙 #happyhalloween2019 #trickortreat🎃 (at Taal Vista Hotel) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4RwbjNAcyP/?igshid=k2u6bg6spoc8

Making a splash 💦💦💦 Aside from the bonding, water play promotes sensory development. This gives my son a chance to safely experiment with different temperatures (hot, warm, cold) and texture (slippery, wet, coarse and dry).. . Water resistance provide exercises for his little limbs especially when cycling or paddling. I encourage my son to kick and feel the water to make a splash. It gives him the concept of cause and effect.. . Sitting and standing in the shallow water practices his stability and balance. This also prepares him to independently bear more weight later on.. . Aside from the spatial awareness (empty and full), it is a good opportunity to introduce to my son the concept of over, for floating toys, and under, by submerging or show him how objects sink.🐥. . Water boosts cognitive development and creativity. It is an interactive medium for exploratory and functional play. I allow my son to scoop some water and toys and transfer them in the bucket. Now he is better in feeding all by himself. @babysparksco #motordevelopment #sensoryplaytolearn https://www.instagram.com/p/B4J7xV2ATLb/?igshid=10jrpu8vhcxkx

My son’s 🌟VERY FIRST SENSORY BIN 🌟 We had some fun animal adventure with his Savanna animal friends 🦓🦒🐆🐘 I asked some pine tree leaves from our neighbor, thank you!, added sand and #smallworld farm animal toys in a small plastic bin. We greeted each animals and got a roar, trumpet, bray and snarl in response 🦁 associating animals with the sound they make. We had some animal songs and I pause for him to name the animal or make its sound. He makes some sound to beat the song - his way of singing along! 😊 #sensorybin https://www.instagram.com/p/B4EBGuGgOZg/?igshid=5dhay380zp02

Fun painting with sponges and encouraging art to Antonio Luis for his #cognitiveactivity. I set-up our painting session outdoors this time. I taped a card stock paper on the glass railing and cut out sponges into an elephant 🐘 and a bear 🐻 for him to stamp with colorful washable paints on the paper. He likes mixing colors and curious about the texture of the paint and sponge #sensoryplay. I introduced to him the colors as he paints and let him express his creativity. Swipe ➡️ to see our final artwork at the end. Do you see the sponge animals blending with the artwork? It was so beautiful! 🎨 Follow @antonioluis.play for our #learnthroughplay activities 💙 https://www.instagram.com/p/B3_KObFpNnu/?igshid=1xohbyq73nq0l

Antonio Luis spontaneously shows interest in scribbling. I prompt him to draw on his easel board using his water-based chalk. I join him along side to increase his interest and the time spent for this activity. For now, the result is not important and allow him to draw whatever he choose. What is important is that I expose him to the tools needed for the drawing as well as the activity itself. #finemotorskills https://www.instagram.com/p/B3biGFpgS0g/?igshid=t9bdfvl7980t

Cognitive Frontal Lobe @kinedu activity for this day. I cut out paper shapes of circle, triangle and square and help Antonio Luis pair them up with their corresponding geometric shapes. I name the shape as he associate them with the drawings. This helps him pair and identify geometric shapes and stimulates his #abstractthinking and #earlyknowledge https://www.instagram.com/p/B3OBtW2AC5r/?igshid=flnutexm4d67

Healthy eating at home while stimulating Antonio Luis’ tactile, visual, olfactory and tasting senses #nutrition. I let him smell the fruits and discover their tastes. He loves the mangoes!🥭 I was inspired by @kids.eat.in.color’s information about nutrition, healthy eating habits and how to talk about what foods do in our bodies.
Here’s what I tell my son about foods and their benefits: 🥚Meat, eggs, brand, dairy (protein), nuts - for stronger muscles 💪🏻
🌴Coconut, avocado, olive oil and butter (fats) - help our brains think
🍞Sweet foods, harina - help us move and run, give us energy And here are the benefits of eating nutritious foods: 🍎 Red: gives you a strong ❤️
🍊 Orange: helps you see in the dark
🍌 Yellow: helps your body heal cuts
🥦 Green: gives you super powers to fight off sickness
🍆🍇Blue and Purple: Give you a strong brain
🥥 White: gives you energy #eattherainbow🌈

We have adjusted our play schedule earlier now since Mommy is working at home but this little tyke is still her priority. This @kinedu activity stimulates Antonio Luis’ abstract thinking and early knowledge. I prepared some picture flash cards I got from @ohbabyph and animal figures from @findsfinds_ph for him to learn to associate objects with their corresponding names. What I do is I get one card to call the first animal and say the appropriate onomatopoeia. He imitates the trumpet of the elephant 🐘and the roar of the tiger 🐅 #firstwords #languagedevelopment https://www.instagram.com/p/B3GTtqXAIKM/?igshid=nyj6utck6rlc

My 16 months old son with his busy little hands 👋 He loves to play with the bottle caps to exercise his fine muscles. So, I prepared this craft stick fine motor skills activity box that we both painted for him to practice his fine motor and hand-eye coordination. #toddlerplayph https://www.instagram.com/p/B28NjPFgHOx/?igshid=pu2o4up7z2sd
