"I think Hazbin definitely should’ve been 3D animated instead of 2D, hear me out. Watching the 3D animated version of Stayed Gone really got me thinking about how much better the show would’ve looked if it was 3D. Yeah, the writing decisions wouldn’t have been saved, but at least the show would look way nicer! So many things about the 3D animated video are better than the official one: the shading, expressions, some shot changes, so much is better. Hell, the part where Vox talks to himself in sunglasses is funnier. Having it cut to him in sunglasses is funnier than him being there already. Plus, characters being over designed wouldn’t be as much of a problem because animators aren’t redrawing the characters, it’s a model. God, if this show were 3D animated, it would’ve looked so good. But nope. Man."

"It makes me feel so sad that I check all the boxes of a lot of the toxic fandom hate (shitty dad, not white, strange gender identity.) I was a vivzie fan since 2013 and was a weird kid the whole time so now it hurts seeing vivzie and her writing taking a steep nose dive in quality. Her projects used to be a comfort source for me, and now her projects just seem so hard to enjoy now. She inspired me as an artist, and now the only thing I can do is hope that I can be inspired by her failure and hope to fully become a better comic artist and person."

-alastor was a famous radio presenter in the 1920's. he was also a serial killer and a cannibal, who died in 1929. he was 46 when he died.

-he wished to be famous in his life, but he could not safely become a tv show host or a movie star because of the racism of the time, so he chose to hide behind radio instead, never showing his face- even going so far as to show up to prestigious events wearing deer masks

-this obsession with staying anonymous made him infinitely more mysterious and interesting to his listeners

-he was also quite charming and charismatic

-he was quite poor in his youth and so became obsessed with eating, which led to him becoming a cannibal. he is always hungry. hungry for fame, hungry for power, hungry for flesh

-he died of starvation. he was chasing a victim through the woods when his foot got caught in a bear trap. he was stuck there for 3 days before succumbing to his injuries. (thats why hes so alarmingly skinny)

-his reputation as a serial killer preceded him when he arrived in hell. major evils dying is always a big event, and he used this to gain power

-he now sits as a major overlord - but none of his empire is real. he doesn't have any major powers, and has lied his way to the top by implying that he has more power than he is letting on. he doesn't

-he discovers Charlie's hotel through her tv show last-ditch pitch (same as the pilot, except ive now decided that that interview cost them the last of their hotel money, so the stakes to find an investor were higher). he decides to sponsor Charlie's hotel because he wants POWER, real substantial power to ensure his throne of lies is safe, and he figures manipulating Lucifer's weak daughter is the easiest way to get that power

-i should mention that in my rewrite if a sinner is able to kill an overlord or a Sin that sinner gets their title and (relative) powers. alastor knows he can do this to lucifer as it's happened once before with satan

-he is immediately overbearingly friendly to her, which vee & the other guests find suspicious. he begins bending the hotel to his whims, making it more suited to his tastes.

-he has large amounts of money, which he uses to fund and advertise the hotel

-his radio show, however, has slowly been dwindling in popularity over the years. this and "the goodness of his heart" are what he tells charlie are why he invests in the hotel

-he tends to disappear when fights start

-his best friend is nifty. they have a very strong bond. he often communicates her worries for her, and in return she spies on the guests for him. he doesn't even own her soul they're just buddies

-he's still aroace but not bc he only cares about himself. thats stupid

-he is intentionally mysterious and speaks in riddles & lotts of 1920s slang

-he is firmly still in the 1920s, to an unusual extent. he has all the dated ideas and mannerisms of the 20's, refusing to become more modern.

-his room in the hotel is entirely monochrome

-he shares charlie's love of musicals, and often encourages her to sing. whether his like of them is genuine or an act is unclear

-his face does not have the capability to move. he cannot blink, close his mouth or eat

I mean good for her but I just can't look at her the same way since she's the same writer who writes these sex jokes and ntm incest jokes-

Personally those sex and incest jokes don’t make a difference for me. What changes things and makes Vivziepop’s coming out ironic and awkward is how she badmouthed Kendraw’s character and asexuality. Along with how she portrays and sees other asexual characters (i.e. Mammon, Alastor, and Octavia).

-angel dust was a sinner that died in 1948. they were a member of a large mafia family and led a secret life as a drag queen. "real" name anthony ragno

-they were born into the family, and were unable to leave bc. you know. life of crime

-much of their family looked down on them and mocked them bc of their feminine mannerisms

-they had a particularly bad relationship with their father, who saw them as a failure of a son-so they turned to drag and underground queer clubs instead (miss angel baby was their drag name that they adopted full time after dying. they then renamed themselves angel dust after the drug became popular in the 60's)

-they also turned to cocaine, often stealing from their family's stash

-their death happened because they were lousy hiding the tracks of their theft and the family got a tip off that angel had been stealing and that they were currently in an aforementioned queer club

-mafia family storms the queer club, angel comes out off their head on cocaine, their father finds then and shoots them in the stomach before slamming their head against the wall repeatedly, killing them

-their and all of their family's (except their sister) demon forms are spiders, symbolising the web of lies they spun😎 because angel died in drag they also have a much more feminine demon form

-they enjoyed life in hell for a while, but soon enough other members of their family started dying and began looking for them. this caused them to flee to the nearest hiding space they had, a place called Valentino's that promised a safe haven against any threats

-as we know this promise is absolute bullshit

-angel signed the contract that allowed them entry to valentino's. they were panicked and signed it hastily, not looking at the fine print.

-they become trapped at valentino's, forced to be a prostitute. the contract does hold its end on one part- none of angel's family in hell can see or touch them

-sometime in the 80's valentino himself visits and likes the look of angel, deciding that he wants them for himself

-he takes on angel as a prostitute/porn star/stripper/whatever valentino wants them to be today, with valentino abusing them behind the scenes

-valentino lovebombs them often, buying them expensive gifts they are required to wear and feeding their drug habit

-despite being famous, most of the money angel makes goes straight into valentinos pocket. this is what leads them to finding charlie's hotel, as they do not have enough money to pay rent and the happy hotel offers free accommodation.

-angel, when they first start to stay at the hotel is openly dismissive and antagonistic towards the cause, sneaking in drugs, throwing parties, trashing the place. they have no intention of getting better

-it takes angel a while to come round to the hotel's cause, but it does happen

-angel constantly wants attention to be on them, whether positive or negative. their favourite way to do this is by winding up vee

-angel's best friend is pao (cherri bomb), an anarchist who wants nothing more than to free them- but she has no money, no connections and is banned from most places on sight due to her habit of blowing stuff up. when angel dust gets sad and mopey, she gets angry for them

-angel uses they/them, but hell isnt the most progressive place, so few demons use it for them. they dont really care though, they have bigger things to worry about

-their mood shifts abruptly when around valentino- they go from brash and chatty to quiet and obedient when he is around

-they actually physically cannot harm valentino, as part of their contract states that any harm valentino goes through also happens to them

-another part of their contract is that they cannot say anything bad about valentino. if they try to, they start choking and coughing

-they like to keep up with the latest trends, and have a decent sinstagram following. they're very modern and have also lost their new york accent over time

-they are hypersexual due to trauma, but unlike in canon it is not their only personality trait

-they have frequent night terrors and do will do anything to not fall asleep

Stella/Stolas

Figured it would be best to start with some of my favorite redesigns! Welcome back Worst Married Couple In Hell!!!

For Stella I wanted to really focus on her lack of agency in her own life down to her outfit, dressing her in her husbands purple/blue shades with her own pink/purple shades being just an accent. I also imagine this Stella being unable to read beyond very basic stuff, corset training from a young age, and has a heavy focus during her upbringing on her looks. Taught how to balance books on her head rather than understand them. One of my biggest gripes with Stella in the show is how she is primarily there to make Stolas a more perfect victim, she acts to make us as the viewer feel bad for Stolas. Viv, I feel, forgot that she wrote both of them into an arranged marriage where they were forced to have kid. Another thing I wanted to explore with Stella moving forward was her abuse of Octavia, rather than her being a Disney villain I think her being neglectful as Stolas is would be interesting. Where Stolas is holding onto a younger, less angsty version of his daughter, Stella never wanted anything to do with her. It's not from a place of hate as it is pain, Octavia being a walking reminder that she is trapped here with this man who can do whatever he pleases. Coming around to Stolas I wanted to lean a touch into a more manipulative vision for him. Well meaning for sure but definitely with a victim complex. This lends into his own neglect of Octavia, trying to force a relationship that just is not there and hasn't since she was a child. Stolas at his core wants to be a good person but as a young man, or really as a young boy he didn't know the proper way to parent or be a partner to Stella in that way. This of course leaves Octavia isolated, which I'll go more into later. In my vision, Stolas does realize much too late that he does love Blitzo but it's much less glossed over with his fetishization and disrespect to Imps. His primary confusion is not that it happened but rather that he doesn't realize his impact on others, which is his main throughline in his relationships.

I will probably have more to say laterer but for now this'll do as a jumping off point for the rest of the story/concept.

Honestly, the scene at the club where Angel stands against Valentino is so hypocritical. He went against his ab!ser and protected himself? Amazing! But 5 seconds ago, Sir Pentious was being dragged away to have s3x while visibly fighting and saying 'no.' Same thing goes for Moxxie. We know he would never consent to something like that, and it's clear something happened to him after he clawed away from the succubi. Insanity.
