We know Freddie Mercury’s been the most challenging role Rami’s ever played. We know he worked himself out to the bones and that the idea of portraying such an iconic human being as Rami did was not simple at all but rather deliberated, meticulously discussed and articulated. He knew what he wanted to show, the Freddie he wanted to share.
“It’s an arduous thing to tell someone’s life in just two hours. What’s the nature of celebrating a life? Definitely not avoiding his death in any way, or what caused his death, which is the Aids virus. But I think if you don’t celebrate his life, and his struggles, and how complicated he was, and how transformative he was – and wallow instead in the sadness of what he endured and his ultimate death – then that could be a disservice to the profound, vibrant, radiant nature of such an indelible human being.”
He‘s said he’s even kinda scared to take on another play right now but I’m convinced if Rami did this he can do anything in life
