Having a bunch of fun doing stuff with particles. Anyway here's a render with the Mega Kaiju from Pacific Rim 2. I still think he looks pretty cool. 7 years later I still refer to him as "Hajinthorn" in my head because I still think "Mega Kaiju" is a lame name though the name I came up with isn't really all that better.

Definitely not the last test I'll do for his flamethrower particle but probably the last one I'll post because it would be really repetitive if I posted the same thing everytime I made a slight change or improvement.

Sometimes it's fun to just open up Blender and look at his model. Literally one the best character designs I've ever had the pleasure of looking at. He's just so cool he really is.

Flamethrower test with Metal Madness to help myself get a bit of a better handle at Blenders particle system. Excuse the the very low effort animation I was really just focused on getting the particle to work more than anything else.

Rendered a close up for the eye animations because I think that detail gets a little lost in the wide view render. Though because of the low resolution and how fast he's moving it's not that noticeable but still I put some effort into it anyway.

I like the electric tail swinging attack Metal tries against Shadow in Shadow Gens so I wanted to try my hand at it. This was really fun to animate and I'm mostly happy with it. I may try to tweak the animation a little more some other time. Also this is my first time actually trying to utilize Blenders particle system so excuse the weird looking electricity. I might come back to it later and try to improve it but as a first particle systems test I think it came out fine enough.

Edit: Just realized Tumblr lowered the framerate from 48fps to 30fps so here it is with the proper framerate.

Maybe it's just me but I feel like if you squint a little the overall shape sorta makes him look like he's wearing a dress because of the pose of the wings and the tail. Frankly I think he looks good in a dress. Anyway I'm animating something with him so take this as a preview or something. Also I've listening to the Shadow Gens version of "What I'm Made Of..." for about 6 hours now while I work on this it's just so fucking good.

Rip to this animation I was working on a while ago. I got further into this than the screenshot would tell you but I cannot find the fucking file for this animation so I guess it's lost for now.

Was looking through some wip animations and found this one I want to get back to at some point. The idea I have seems like a fun experiment but will need some time to set up a few assets. I also need to make a new flight cycle for Metal Overlord for this which will also take some time to do. On another note, I'm glad this is currently unfinished because that version of his model is outdated so that gives me the chance to eventually finish this with the most recent version of him. Also I don't really fuck with the lighting anymore. I think it would be better to reuse the lighting setup I made for Metal Madness the other day since I like that one more. Anyway since this is currently unfinished enjoy him just flapping in place I guess.
