Orc can't read Ulysses, BUT Orc passed cosmetology school and is an accomplished stylist. Knows that picture you brought was magically generated and not doable BUT Orc knows perfect cut/color!

excellent joke about situational intelligence! im gonna use ur ask to talk about stuff that i've been ruminating on.

also it's an ogre not an orc. i did the post wrong first and had to edit it. we are all illiterate together.

i see a lot of people relating to the ogre in this when faced with a text that challenges them or that they can't make sense of. people react with "me too" and "same" to the purported woes of the ogre because who amongst us hasn't felt like a dip shit in the middle of a paragraph/article/book at one time or another! words are hard sometimes!

but.

rarely do i see people engaging with the subtext of the meme. the ogre read ulysses, a traditionally difficult book to read. they picked up on main themes. the ogre's frustration with their own limitations is a marker of their insight and intellect. their self flagellation could be dissected as reinforced social oppression. how many people have to tell you that you're stupid before you believe them?
