One time in class I decided to turn the Finnish Broadcasting Company or Yleisradio (YLE) into a tumblr sexyman. Yleisradio means General Radio and YLE was founded in the 1920’s so his head is a 1920’s radio and he wears a suit from that time too. He has different “modes” based on each YLE channel, YLE 1 is his default mode and YLE 2 is more business casual and chipper (and those are the only two I did!).
He has a pet owl named Pikku Kakkonen that’s based on the program with the same name on YLE 2. I feel like YLE would be a charmer, but also somewhat out of touch, being nearly a hundred years old and with the company having grown so big all his employees handle everything nowadays.

HAHAHAA I designed the IAICOH seal finally!! I've had this idea for ages but never really put it on paper (...the screen) before now. It features the giant sea turtle, a in-Sirpaverse animal :)
I also designed an employee card, waow!!!!
More on IAICOH and the seal under the cut:
Magic is extremely ordinary in Sirpaverse, that much is obvious. Literally anyone can perform magic, most technology around has magical properties. Much like how a firefighter in the real world knows how to prepare for an electrical fire instead of dragonfire (the former is real here, the latter is not), first responders in the Sirpaverse have training and gear ready to counter most common harmful spells and respond to accidents that may result from a person or animal panicking or an ordinary object having malfunctioning magic.
But, what about situations where the complexity and intensity of the magic at hand is far out of the scope of normal magical knowledge and experience? Someone wielding fire magic is rather easy to handle, but an elderly monk who has mastered the ultradeathmegakill spell he personally invented and never told anyone about that ultradeathmegakills every living thing and corrodes all physical material around him in seconds... significantly less easier to handle. This example is very extreme and definitely not actually real, but it highlights just how dangerous magic can become. New things are discovered constantly about magic, its capabilities are far more vast than previously assumed. How do you counter the spell equivalent of a hydrogen bomb, if it came out that a group of people have been developing one? How do you arrest a murderer like Pigeon man who appears and vanishes however he pleases and doesn't even seem to exist most of the time? How do you reverse the effects of someone like Face Stealer and his invasive and harmful magic? That’s what IAICOH is for!
"Jaiko" as most everyone calls it, aka IAICOH or the International Agency of Investigating and Containing Occult Hostiles is pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. IAICOH monitors and investigates highly unusual occurrences and highly magically powerful, highly dangerous people, animals, organisations, contraptions, what have you, hopefully to make sure the threat is contained and no one is harmed. It’s kinda like the CDC or my own dear Food Authority but for magic, or like the SCP Foundation but…. you know, also for magic. And hardly as messed up if my knowledge of SCP serves me right.
The name is fancy but the actual day-to-day jobs of the employees are not that interesting, even if it sometimes involves information that is not to be released to the public. Most of the time Jaiko is looking for leads that may hint at more things going on under the surface, like several disappearances linked by the same or similar "supernatural" occurences beforehand or dozens of non-native insect species suddenly appearing in spades in the southwest. They send people to do some tests, do some investigating, interrogate locals, gather up information on similar past occurrences, usually that seals the deal and Jaiko moves on. Jaiko also conducts research, funds magical research and rehabilitates victims and perpertrators of the incidents it responds to, though Jaiko's daughter organisation Haven mostly focuses on rehabilitiation and rebuilding what was lost. Very rarely does Jaiko ever take forceful action.
So! Now that you know IAICOH, here's some more about the seal!
The giant sea turtle or heaven is a species of sea turtle closely related to leatherbacks. They're very culturally significant to merfolk and landfolk alike and symbolise perserverance, protection and kindness. There are stories of heavens saving humans by shielding them from strong currents and tidal waves or letting lost people rest on their backs. In IAICOH's seal, the heaven protects the entire Earth itself, carrying it on its back and shielding it with its flippers. This is the mission of IAICOH, after all! The heaven keeps a watchful eye on the Earth and its surroundings to make sure it's safe and sound.
#do you guys think theyre letting caroline into the jaiko building today?#im SURE they will#art#my art#sirpaverse#magical malarkey#featuring the creature#iaicoh#jaiko

……Would feathers for hats and decorations and whatnot be partly gotten from feathered taurs…. Hmm….. and would these sorts of products be more ethical to people who are against animal cruelty…….
#ethically sourced taur-based down pillow and other phrases uttered in the sirpaverse#i reckon it depends on if the taurs supplying the feathers are compensated well and the process isnt horribly painful or dehumanising#what a fucking world. lmao#sirpaverse#taur hour

I drew common hippos from reference because I want to learn how to draw this marvellous semiaquatic beast. Hippos have this beauty in their body shape, their face, their eyes. It is all very fluid and well-proportioned, yet kinda difficult to draw properly! A hippopotamus truly is unlike any other animal.
These are the hippos I drew referencing my own drawings and using what I had learned about hippo faces and bodies via drawing them (trying to make them more my style)

I showed my sister the Rhapsody in Blue segment from Fantasia 2000 and when this absolutely miserable depressed unemployed man appeared I thought to myself “there’s something very Man-esque about this guy but I’m not gonna say anything lest I become the Paddington 2 guy again” but fortunately for me, not even five seconds after this guy first graced the screen, my sister asked “What is [the Man] doing here?”

Somebody tagged this as "reference" so I figured as a semi-helpful bonus I'd draw an example of like, how large breasts look like in shirts or bodices in my simple art style at least
Tight shirt, loose shirt, dress bodice. A tight shirt will wrap around the breasts and show their shape more, but still doesn't define each individual breast. Loose shirt will just hang off of them. Dress bodices come in all sorts of shapes and sizes but the ones I've worn are kinda "firm" and do not perfectly wrap around each individual breast lmao
Art pet peeve: When characters with breats have their breasts be drawn super defined even under their clothing to a point it looks stupid
??????? Are they sticking the shirt under their breasts??? Usually not even a super tight shirt will wrap around a person's chest like this naturally
#like... enjoying breasts is cool and fine and i get you wanna show them off in art if you like them#but idk i dont think having them ''less defined'' makes them any less sexy#is the round outline of breasts and a flirty suggestion of their shape and size not titillating to begin with....#also if you wanna draw breasts just draw nakey breasts. be free buddy#art#my art

It turns out dualism is true, but the metaphysical boundary between the material and abstract realm is just the blood-brain barrier. If you stick a probe in someone's skull and turn it an angle 90 degrees to all the usual ones, you can take a peek directly into the world of forms. They sent a mission there in the 70s, brought back some samples from the form of the Sphere. Not the best choice; now anything spherical has a little chunk missing. Anyway at the national air and space museum they have a piece you can touch with your finger. Pretty cool

Thank you, she really is the spider's bee's knees <333 The girl with the most complicated pants known to man.
Kinda related to her difficult-shaped overalls, my favourite thing to add in Karleeen's outfits are things that are there only for the looks. Like her belts or the single suspender of her skirt! Belts and suspenders are for keeping your pants up, but Karleeen's pants and skirts... don't have that problem at all. They're already closed at the top and won't fall off of her. At most a belt will keep her pants more form-fitting around the waist. These features are there only as an accessory lol
I updated Karleeen's ref a bit, it's still pretty much the same but I figure I might as well post the new version anyway.
Karleeen has sooo many outfits, this isn't even all of them!!!! She loves dressing in cute and colourful clothes, and most of all she loves warm colours! Accessories are plentiful.

Sirpa so you won't forget! ;D
She too has a wedding ring, but I always forget to draw it. Whoops.

Sirpa Leena Kartanen!!!! Part-time mermaid and full-time captain lieutenant. Sirpa doesn’t actually think of herself as being very attractive, so she’d rather focus on things about her body that she can affect and does like… namely her strength. She likes feeling strong and dependable, like a leader.
Most of the time Sirpa does not have the time or energy to put effort into her appearance, so she tends to dress for convenience, in case she has to go somewhere or do something all of the sudden. You know, just put on whatever drops out of the closet first! The furniture and decor of the house is Lazlo’s domain and the garden is Sirpa’s, so it’s useful to dress in a way that you can just go out to do some leftover yard work, anyway. Don’t want to ruin your best dress! …if she had one.

Ahti's reference has not changed at all, but I offer you supplementary material on his fins and hair! His tail moves side to side, like a fish's.
He mostly wears reds, blues and whites. Silver details are common. He likes to dress preppy with tucked-in dress shirts and slipovers and ascots and scarves and high socks and cardigans and everything!

My alien fishy at her most recognisable! She wears all the clothes that I wear, which are usually dress shirts and earth-toned sweaters or t-shirts and shorts. She’s bigger in her full fish form but I can’t say by how much.

Samira has an eye for style, evident from her colourful and timeless conical hats (there is no witch association in the Sirpaverse, cone hats are just another fashionable artsy hat like a beret)! She likes cute clothes and floral patterns and usually dresses in reds, pinks and whites. Graphic tees of bands and brands are reserved for weekends at home.
