you know that thing spider-man stories do where spidey gets knocked down in a fight and it looks hopeless until a random little girl throws a stone at the supervillain like LEAVE SPIDER-MAN ALONE YOU BIG JERK and they try to go for her instead but then there's another stone from a random man and another from a steely-eyed old lady who's seen some shit and another and another and another until the people of new york collectively heckle this weirdo in a mask into leaving because spidey's saved them more than enough times for them to save him? yeah, that. I like that. that's what superheroes should be

was reminded of that youtube channel that records footage of that bridge that scalps trucks today. one of the fascinating developments that's happened since i last heard about it is that, in one of their many attempts to stop the trucks from being can-opened, they installed a traffic light that detects when a vehicle that's over the allowed height is coming and turns red so the driver can stop and hopefully notice the signage all around that's screaming "YOUR VEHICLE IS OVERHEIGHT TURN AROUND" and avoid an accident. However as a result sometimes drivers see the light turning yellow and IMMEDIATELY start flooring it to avoid having to stop, ensuring that the roof of their truck just gets fucking annihilated instantly. game where you live in a nice big house with everything you need, all yours, rent-free. on the condition that you keep the house fed. interact with the neighborhood, none aware of the alive house situation. branching paths depending on which characters you feed to the house. and the house IS romanceable

something i absolutely adore about spaces that allow and encourage amateur art, like fan creation (fic, art, video edits, etc.), is that they force you to develop your perspective and understanding of what makes art "good" and "worthwhile". especially if it's fanwork for less mainstream media properties that don't dominate the popular culture; by "lowering your standards" because "beggars can't be choosers" you end up noticing things that you never would have if you hadn't stepped down to give them a closer look. okay so he would not fucking say that but i'm going to be haunted by some of this prose until my dying breath. yeah this person is singing off-key and the vocal fry is distracting but these lyrics are unbelievable. these proportions don't make sense but i had no idea you could even do something like that with those colours. some of the most beautiful music in the world comes from the throats of plain dull little songbirds you wouldn't look twice at if they didn't open their beaks and sing their unremarkable looking hearts out.
