realized that not only did I have one almost a year ago, I also sent an ask to oscconfessions detailing the dream!!

(dream recounting continues for two more similar-sized paragraphs)

have you guys ever had a dream where you died in objectified? i took a nap today and it happened to me and i swear its like the 20th time its happened since i started making the comic. it happens to my friends too

I really do think the first cast death will be from one of Minty/Brandy/Sugarcube's family. The trio is the only group who hasn't actively been discovering new things about the apocalypse or finding ways to hinder/stop the parasites. They're mostly centered around surviving and haven't really done anything that's affected the story as a whole, other than using homemade molotovs to set the "ugly people" aflame. Their backstories are also relatively shown/known, so one of them dying wouldn't leave any unsolved mysteries.

The only lore-relevant thing going on with them is Brandy's affliction but I get the feeling once that fully develops into its variation it'll lead to the climax of someone dying.

Other potential objects I that I think could/will die are probably Spool, maybe Painkiller, and a little Dragonscale? Spool and Painkiller both are following along someone else's dangerous lead and Dragonscale's group is proving to not be as formidable as they seemed at first. I think with the way the events are unfolding those three are at second-risk of dying as well.

wait the Sugarcube thing is kinda real though. where is her development. give me Sugarcube moments. I know she's like 7-8 but that's definitely old enough to understand at least SOME of what's going on around her. I remember being that age. I was a person!! she can be one too!!

I do agree with this a lot, I often find myself trying to fill in the gaps and imagine what the characters said or did next. Yeah, I know the story needs to keep going and if all of them had long-drawn out conversations after something happened the comic would be much further behind in plot progression. But I also wish we could see them react and get deeper into their thoughts about things. Jumping to when the incident is over lessens the impact and makes whatever they went through not seem as important.

Can the next Razor, Gum, Fuzzball, and Sharps episode be an actual follow-up to Doomed World: Finale? Like, just a more calming episode of right after Razor wakes up to Fuzzball, and how they're all handling the situation. However, I have a feeling they'll do those minor time skips they usually do, and I feel like it'd kind of make sense, but I still just kind of want a slow episode of the aftermath of Razor's awakening...

I mean technically going from being genderless to having a gender is a type of transition. So you could say that all objects with a chosen gender are trans, haha.

Really though, I think it just varies from world to world. Some might have objects born with physical traits that are linked to biological sex/gender. Others might have a culture where parent objects assign their children whatever gender they think fits best. Or perhaps objects are just created/born with an innate sense of their gender and know it from the start. There's lots of different ways it could be interpreted and handled!!

Personally, I think objects learn from their surroundings and other objects and eventually choose for themselves what they want to be. Maybe later they learn new things or change as a person and decide they want to identify differently!! Or perhaps even they never pick a gender and remain genderless (...would that make them cisgender??). It's all totally up to the individual object!!

I've put quite a lot of thought into this previously but never really worded it all out till' now. It's honestly really cool trying to think of how it all works!! It would probably be very different from the experience us humans have, really. Makes me wish I was an object...

So may i ask a question, just for everyone here. How objects can be trans? And not only like that, how they can be any gender?

I know, i know about "personal sexual orientation", but still. All objects like a antro right? But the same time they are genderless cause, not in biology, not event sociology they can called themself as gender. In fact, if this object decided to choose being male, but why after some time he now want to be her?

Oh & also btw Hotel OJ is a classic name I refuse to accept any other alternative in place of it. Nothing can stand up to it's legacy. I understand Mr. Orange Juice is trying to be less ego-centric and make things less about himself and this is a symbolic change, but, that's THE name of the building. I literally cannot think of it as anything else. He could be a red cup (you see in movies) filled with battery acid and I would still call it Hotel OJ. There is no universe where any other label fits better. That name is as true to the building as it is hideously orange. To me, that place always was, is, and will be Hotel OJ.

I don't think they're saying it cause of her condition, just that they think she didn't do anything really deserving of a win? Like maybe her character wasn't strong enough or relied on others too much, I dunno.

Personally, I think she did and went through enough that's MORE than deserving for a win. OJ could be said to deserve it less than she does (though in his defense, he was in his early stages of "being a person"). Cabby is far more comparable to Suitcase with the social struggles she endured as well as having her own mental condition, and I do think she equally deserved hers too.

I take it back I don't like the twist anymore I hate it actually I wish they were real anything is better than this no no no. They don't even exist now there is no show there are no contestants there will be no more sillyfunnies everything is bad and horrible oh my gosh why why why!!!!

Y'know, despite the twist being utterly blindsiding and gut-wrenching, I'm actually incredibly happy that it's the canon. The characters don't have lives outside of the show. And now that it's been some time since the episode released and my shock has lessened, I feel really relieved that's all they are, just object show contestants.

I never did like thinking of their backstories, I enjoyed them for who they were in the competition and wanted them to stay exactly as that. I loved the relationships they had with each other and didn't care for anyone they knew prior, I never wanted to know about the families or friends they had. I wished for the most important parts of them to only be related to Inanimate Insanity and disliked the possibility of anything else being more signifigant.

But I knew all of that wasn't realistic, no matter how much I wanted to focus on solely their gameshow presence they obviously had outside lives. Heck, Cabby and Bot even talked about parents in an episode!! I tried to avoid thinking about it and never participated in fandom discussion related to their pasts cause of how much it upset me. Unfortunately, the more the seasons drew to a close and the more "outside" characters made appearances within them I realized I couldn't deny it forever. I told myself I had to acknowledge it one day, that these objects were people inside of an entire world with their own histories that made them who they are. There was no point in trying to avoid that reality, and at some point it would probably come up in the show itself. I just had to accept that fact.

...Except, none of that is true. They don't have backstories. They don't know anyone else outside of the competition. They're just a bunch of made up objects purely existing for a reality show. That's it. I can't believe it, my biggest worry is gone, canonically!! I never have to leave fantasy land and see the characters as regular people, because they aren't!! Never were, and never will be!! Even if they do try to integrate into the world's society, they all still originated from the show. Their closest ties will always be to each other and everything we've seen is the only development they've ever had in their artificial lives. It's a perfect dream come true for me. They aren't real. They're just contestants inside of a sillyfunny object show :D
