Life is too short to tell FELLOW FANS that THEIR headcanon is wrong but YOUR headcanon is right. When I come on this site, I come to consume content. I like to think of myself as a writer, but I’m nowhere near the level of my peers. Fics, fanart, it doesn’t matter, I consume all of it. I SUCK at using Tumblr, so I don’t always successfully reblog or heart the stuff I like, but I see it. 

It doesn’t matter who the artist ships, it doesn’t matter if I personally would write another ship, I come here to CONSUME CONTENT. And when I see something with a Voltron tag, my mind says, “Alright! More Voltron content, I like this!”

I’ve never experienced fan vitriol like you describe Wenzel, and it breaks my heart that there are people that would not only willingly close themselves off to swaths of the community, but then would go a step further and criticize that part of the community for not being like them.

in a month all these people will have moved on to a new fandom. in six months, most of these people will no longer consume v/ld content. in a year, 95% of them will have forgotten V/LD exists. and in two years, the entire discourse thing will have passed and many will be embarrassed about how they behaved.

It’s May 21, which means it’s now the second anniversary of the first time I drew the grunks and posted them to Tumblr!  So as I did last year, I decided to do an updated version of those pics.  

(The main difference being I didn’t ink this one in brush-pen, as I did the first two.  I use the brush pen a little less these days, so figured I’d reflect what I do more often now, to make it a true update.  I feel like the differences are less drastic this time, but they’re still there. Hmm.)

This is a piece done with her OC Adeline Marks; in particular, this is for the Drifting Dimensions AU (link to the tag; story by @a-mad-scientist-approaches, here), which is related to the Dimension Jumper AU… which is an AU of the main Tales of Adeline AU, where Addi originates.  (Whew!)  

As you can probably tell, this particular AU involves Mabel falling through the Portal (similar to, but not the same as, the “Drifting Stars” story), and being saved by Ford and Addi.  (This is not a specific illustration for any of the stories, more just generic protectiveness.)
