Evaluation

What went well?

·      In my project I feel like they were a lot of things that went well in it. An example of this would be some of the code what I have done, such as the code for the random target to spawn at random points in my game. I also think making realistic grass in my project made it look visual quite good and made the moles look better, I had more ideas when I added the grass in such as an alien in the background to make it look like they have just been spawned there for some other planet. Another thing what went well in my game is that I used old aspect what I have used in different game I used them in this game, which go well with them. The example of this would be the main menu screen off the mix of Shrek, mike wazowski and donkey.

What Could Have Gone Better?

·        I feel like they were a couple of things I could have done better in my work which would have made it better looking and more under stable how to play it. This would be that I didn’t have a screen off how to play the game and what to shot and what not to shot in it. I also feel like the grass in my game could have gone better this is because when I first put them in my game the texture below the grass was to bright for the actual grass and also when you are high up the grass doesn’t spawn in so you can just see the floor and it doesn’t look nice compared to when it has the grass flowing.

What Will You Do Differently Next Time?

·        They are a lot of things I would like to do next time if I was ever to come back to this project. Such as making the game more enjoyable and making it so you don’t get so bored easily next time. I would probably make it into a shooting range but make it so you would have to run around a building instead of it being in one place. I would also like to make more level next time and change where some of the places are so they more level and excitement instead of they just being one level. I would make each level as hard as the level before so people have more reason to play it and not get bored of it.

·        Ending on a high note. I feel like this project was fun and easy to do when I knew what I wanted to do. I have added some things that I have never done before, so I learnt new things which I can progress and use them further and add them into more projects

Feedback

I have had a couple of people try my game and most of them have given me positive feedback towards it. They also have given me things that i need to improve an example of this would be at the start before I had grass in my game the moles had a hole around it so it didn't look too good so I Took that feedback and changed it and added some grass into my game so it looks a lot better. People have also said that they like the idea and the color scheme for the moles. As it stands out and you can see them from a distance.

Here i have got a hammer off turbo squid, which i have put into my game. it is sitting in my main menu screen. i have put it on the hands i have put on my poster so it looks like he holding a hammer. So hopefully people know what my game is about

Code

In my game i have used a lot of code to make it to where it is now. i have made certain things like a main menu,pause,random targets and many more things i have added. i added these for a reason as it makes my game better and it looks better. An example of this would be the code for the grass which i have added to the game, which makes my game a lot better then it did without the grass.It is a very simple code to follow to make this grass looks real. i have also made random targets which is the whole aspect of my game as i need random target to pop up at random times. Some of the codes i have used in my game i have copied from YouTube video as i didn't know how to make it myself.

Art/Design

-My game is a kind of first person shooter whack-a-mole hybrid, it plays in a similar way to Call of Duty, particularly the shooting range in Modern Warfare 2. It plays in a way in which you shoot the targets to win, and you only have a short time to react and get them. In Call of duty Modern Warfare 2 campaign.Right at the start of the campaign they is a bit where you have to run around a shooting range and try and do it as quick as possible and see what you high score is. I have based my game off this a bit. an example of this would be the gun in my game and firing at certain targets to get points and not to shot flashing moles as it would deducted your points from your score. A Difference between my game and Call of duty would be that cod is more realistic then my game and it has a lot more of a story line behind it.

-My design for the moles are kinder similar to the design of the fall guys characters. The similarity's of this would be the body shape of the fall guys  characters. As the shape of the moles in my game kinda have the small shape but with no arms and legs. I have used this a little template for my game as it goes well and fits easily in my game.My mole is just a simple design which is easy to do and easy to make. Another example which i used for easy design would be gang beast as the characters design are very easy and simple looking.Fall guys and gang beast have very similar design in them so i have used both of them for templates and the outcome has turned out well. I would like to change my moles so they would have faces on them as it would look better in my opinion and it looks like you are shooting people.

I have added a alien into my game because from the distance it looks good. and it goes really well with the long grass. it looks like he has just been dropped there to scared people or to do something. You can see it in the distant when you are on top off the platform. i might also make if u shot it you win the game and the game just stops

Here i had to change some of my code as after a while in my game it would come up with saying something was wrong sop i had to delete the branch and create a different code for it. Which it now work perfectly fine.I also added so when you hit the flashing mole it take -1 from your score.

I have done some code to make my grass material darker and so it fits well with the grass in my game. As before the texture was too bright and it didn't look nice in the game. It would leave patches and not have that real effect to it. so i had to make the texture darker so it would look nice.

I have made another hud when my game is finished. i used pictures from previous games i have made.

This is my main menu for my game. i have used this for one of my previous game, so i thought i would add it again. i feel like it would look better with a hammer in he hand so people know what going to happen in my game. i also don’t know what to call my game yet. as soon as i have a name i think i might add it to the main menu screen so it looks nice.

Here is a screenshot of all the errors when i have try to upload the game to itch or other websites. The orange/red writing is the problems in my game what i need to fix before releasing it anywhere. i will look through these problems and try and fix them so my game is better and so it runs well.

I was using itch to see how I can uploaded my game that i have made myself. I also had a look at whack-a-mole games on itch some of these games were boring at not fun but some were alright and was fun to play.

Here is some example of whack a mole on itch.io. some of the games are really not good and are extremely boring to play. an example of this would be that one of the game they it no random element to it at all and it has all the mole on the screen at once and as soon as you have clicked them all the game is done. some do have really good ideas. they is one what they have based off stranger things  and have the demogorgon as the moles and you have to whack them. i have left some vid and one where u can actually play it.

I have added a material to the bullets of my gun. i have chosen one what flashes and looks like a bomb is about to go off. so now when you shoot the bullets will flash and then disappear after. i have also done it for the bad moles so when you shoot the flashing moles you will lose points from it

Here i have added grass to my whack a mole game. i have screenshotted everything that u need to do and what the final outcome is from doing this. i have taken out the holes for my moles so now it looks like it is coming from the grass. it fit into my game very well and it make it look so much better then having a plain floor

Here is me making my start and my quit screen. i have copied a video for this but it was easy to follow it and it looks good in my game. i also have done it when you pause the timer stays the same instead of it going down.

I have added a pause menu to my game. I need to add a restart button to the pause mean so you can just restart instead off going out of the game and start it from the beginning. The code is for the pause menu so I can use it for future reference and its so I don't forget how I did it.
