we make fun of the '96 yellowjackets for letting lottie make all their decisions for them but it's been so long since s1 i think we forgot about the bear. like if i woke up from a nonconsensual group hallucinatory drug trip with the knowledge that winter is coming and we're most likely gonna freeze and starve to death and then the girl who'd earlier started rapidly speaking a language she wasn't fluent in walked outside and a fucking bear came out of the woods and kneeled before her and she killed it with a knife then YEAH i think i would be doing whatever the hell she wanted

“I have a theory!”: Okay, this is probably not the first time someone has thought about this but WHAT IF the message from the PTB to Whistler that a vampire with a soul would help Buffy stop the apocalypse was actually about Spike and not Angel? It would explain why Whistler is confused of how things turn out in Season 2 and says “it wasn’t supposed to go like this”. It would also explain why Spike and Buffy are continually drawn to each other and why she has the instinct to keep him close in Season 7. I’ve always thought that some slayer part of her sensed he had an important role to play.

so funny that Cordelia telling Angel that they're not friends anymore was the catalyst to him fully realizing he was in love with her and would do anything to win back her affections. And it was playing in parallel to the season where Spike realized he was in love with Buffy and kept getting punched for it

i think what angel's character all comes down to is that he thinks he's running away from angelus but he's really running away from liam. when angel was at his most human, he was not a good son, a good brother, or a good man. he failed to act with humanity.

and the first thing he did when he became a vampire was target his own family, in particular his father, who as liam, he saw himself as rebelling against. to me that means that angelus is an intensification of liam. after all, not all vampires kill so cruelly. there's something left of who he was that makes him different.

i think he knows deep down that even if he has a soul, it doesn't make him good. so he doubles down and tries to differentiate between angel and angelus. angelus is a different person. angel could never do something like that. but angelus is just liam, and angel is just liam, and liam hasn't done anything useful in his life.

i have two things to say about btvs season 3 episode 1:

seeing buffy suffering through a minumum wage job, dealing with sexual harassment, sitting alone in her one room apartment eating noodles out of a cup? absolutely fucking devastating and way too real

but also: buffy leading a revolution of people who are forced to work literally until they die, with a hammer and scythe in hand? the symbolism, the boldness of it all? fucking awesome
