I've grown really fond of the transfem Gabriel headcanon for a while, mostly because of a really good analysis I saw and it led me to this.

Alright, so lore: basically, when fighting V1 in 6-2, Gabriel starts to feel a certain way, lighter and more freeing, and some of hits manage to damage the helmet. When losing, a chunk of it literally falls off, revealing part of Gabriel's face and left eye. Gabriel perplexed by this wave of unknown emotions and strange relief, leaves, and well the whole, reflecting by the camp fire and facing the council happens, but slightly different. Not only does Gabriel ponder about faith but also about her identity, the amount of roles she was given, and had to fulfill with no thought from her whatsoever and how much it really affected her. Eventually, she faces the council the same way we know but with the difference of being even more rebellious by changing her identity to something she actually does feel like. (So you could assume the helmet breaking is a direct metaphor of egg cracks.... yeah so original oooohhhhh/j)

I could make something with more lore but I'm too busy simping over her because I grew obsessed with her appearance and I love picturing silly goofy Gav1el scenarios of "Machine obsessed with wife 3 times it's size" and such, it's funny.
