Personally, i love this look for him. I suspect it's his natural hair color, too. I don't mind that he looks like a regular guy walking down the street who works in an office. 

It seems odd to see Richard completely clean shaven. He’s worn a beard or stubble for so long…

This is my kind of fan art. I like it when people use an existing image and reinterpret it to something beyond the original. I like this image rather than the first one primarily because it's more dynamic - looking up and away from the person as opposed to looking down and into the person. It upward looking head has a more dynamic shape. I wish the four marks at the bottom were 4 finger marks making the streaks rather than brush strokes - that would have so much strength.

This is a disturbing image of RA. Did someone use Photoshop to remove the contouring on his face? Looks like he’s had plastic surgery like Kenny Rogers. Perhaps he’s having an allergic reaction and his face is swelling up. Yikes!

This has been photoshopped - they removed the contours under his eyes and smoothed the skin. Heresy! Screen grab included to prove it.

Richard reading Lords of the North

I just heard that this version is no longer available anywhere and it's such a shame. I've heard the other versions and Richard's is the best version by far. I was so sad when someone else read Sword Song in the hope that he would continue the saga. I hope Audible or someone picks up this title but I doubt it.

In light of the surge in the speculation of Richard's private life (i.e. Lee Pace or Annabel Capper) due to his spectacular success in The Crucible, I am reblogging this statement. I don't care if he's in relationships with any person, male or female. If you have any respect for him, keep his private life out of the cybersphere.

Take a cue from his recent interview in the Telegraph:

 His unwillingness to share his private life with the press has led to rumours about his sexuality. I ask him if, in the era of tabloid witch hunts, those in the public eye live with a fear that one day they’ll wake up to find that they’ve become the story, and whether this means having to censor parts of his character in public all the time.

“I think if you’ve got stuff to hide, there’s a level of stress that people live with. I think I read somewhere that someone said I was fiercely protective of my private life, and I thought well, there’s nothing fierce about protecting a private life. I think it’s worth protecting – for everybody, not just high-profile people.”

Does he feel protective of his sexuality? “No, I don’t feel protective about that. I just feel that it’s not relevant to what I’m presenting in terms of my art form. Anything else, any other talk, chatter, rumours, discussion, diverts from the discussion of the art form, and that’s always been my primary focus.” 

It's so easy to hide behind the anonymity of the internet but it don't let it make you thoughtless and disregard simple human kindness. Remind yourself of the Golden Rule: would you appreciate this kind of talk about yourself or someone close to you? I doubt it.

He's filming "Urban and the Shed Crew" in Leeds. The hair and body is probably for that. He's playing an ex-social worker that has hit hard times (drink/drugs) and befriends a group of street kids who change his life. Based on Bernard Hare's book "Urban Grimshaw and the Shed Crew." It's mostly a true story.

Is it just me or does it look like Richard has gained some weight recently (in a very good way!)?  Maybe he is bulking up for a role?

When I first saw Raul Esparza on Law & Order SVU, my initial thought was “OMG!! It’s Thorin!!” Seriously these two could pass as twins… 0.o

I usually don't care for fan art but this one is very good. While it's based on a photograph, one perceives a depth and solidity of form. It doesn't have the overly meticulous look that some photo-based drawings have. This one uses the photograph as a base but isn't wedded to it.

I'm so glad I'm not the one that started this one but I heartedly agree. It's only natural since he's over 40. The hairline is only slightly receded. I wonder if the extensions he had for Robin Hood season 3 weakened his follicles a little, too.

I noticed this right away when I watched the teaser. Therefore, I’ve decided to poll the RArmy, using these caps from the outtakes. It seems like Our Lovely Man is losing some of his hair. I have come to suspect this not only because of these caps but because of his receding hairline. Do any of you agree? Don’t get me wrong; this will not diminish my affection for him. I simply wonder about it.

I so agree with this response. Whether Richard Armitage and Lee Pace are a couple means nothing to me because it's none of my business. Their lives (like everyone else's) is private. To publicly speculate on any stranger's personal life is wrong. Just because these two actors are in the public eye doesn't mean their privacy is gone. Everyone deserves some measure of respect regarding their private lives.

Here are some highlights:

Call me cynical but I am wary of “do-gooders” who have taken upon themselves the responsibility to tell other people that Richard and Lee’s sexuality is not a proper topic for discussion or that merely talking about it will damage both of their careers or who even demand that certain photos (which are already all over the internet) are deleted from blogs because of “privacy” or “respect” issues. I am wary because it’s ultimately a tactic to negate and shutdown the discourse. It’s a tactic that’s employed by racists and misogynists as well. To feign the “high road” by pretending that we, as a society, are somehow magically beyond racism, misogyny and yes, homophobia, is a way for people to fast-forward through uncomfortable truths about themselves. 

The buzzwords of course. Call me a peasant, but I think it’s more homophobic to turn real human beings into your ship merely because OMGGAYYY and you see them spend time together in scant photographs. 

Or quite specifically, at those of us who have merely contained our Richlee urges to our own blogs with accurate tagging so people are not inadvertently exposed to our “debauchery.” 

I like how debauchery is in quotes. As if they’re not creepy freaks who’ve turned real people into their dildo material. 

I realize that to be a fanatic is to be absolute in your convictions but I have to say that I’m rather surprised that there are still some people who – even when faced with these latest photos of Lee and Richard together with family – are still convinced that there is 0% chance that they are something more than friends. Not even a sliver of a doubt which leads me to believe that there may be something deeper and less tolerant going on; a worldview that has nothing to do with Tumblr or even with Richard or Lee.

That is one of the most noxious of these posts I’ve ever seen. The self-righteousness is overwhelming. So far I haven’t seen the intersection of social justice with real life people shipping, mostly because Larry fans aren’t usually well-versed in critical theory and Butlerian gender performativity, but now I have with that diarrhetic nightmare of an essay. That person doesn’t seem well-versed n much of anything, mind you, other than mindlessly shooting off sj buzzwords at naysayers of her personal wank material - in this case real fucking people - but it’s a slightly higher grade of insanity. I didn’t know the celebrity shippers could actually churn something like that out.

Not a sweatband but a compression band for Lateral Epicondylitis (also known as tennis elbow) due to overuse and/or injury of the wrist and forearm. Makes sense since he mentions having to do extensive work to strengthen the wrist muscles to hold/use the Orcrist.
