how is naruto canonically trans

it all goes back to the original one-shot pilot chapter, where Naruto was initially a kitsune. the three stripes on his cheeks are a disguise for his whiskers. however, since Kishimoto changed the story and character and made him a human ninja for the Naruto series we know, he had to change the reason behind the whiskers to fit more in line with the new lore.

with the rewrite, Kishimoto stated that the only way to get the whiskers is to be born from someone who carries the Kyuubi inside them - this is due to Kurama’s influence in the womb of the Jinchuuriki as the child grows, so the whiskers are passed onto them when they’re born. Naruto canonically got his whiskers because he was born from Kushina, who was the Nine Tails Jinchuuriki at the time.

going off of that, with Boruto and Himawari having been born with whiskers and being the biological children of Naruto and Hinata, Kishimoto accidentally wrote it into canon with his own lore that Naruto is a trans man and Hinata is a trans woman.

naruto thinking that he's the reason his parents died is sadly plausible (to me at least??)

he met his mom at 16 and found out how both her and minato died.

imo he could have taken the story as “if i werent born, my parents would still be alive & happy living. but because i killed them both im going to do my absolute best to never let them down” , which is why he always works so hard, keeps promises, etc

Naruto rlly fits a good portion of the song “My Ordinary Life” by TLT

They tell me that I'm special, I smile and shake my head / I'll give them stories to tell friends about the things I said / They tell me I'm so humble, I say, "I'm turning red” / They let me lie to them and don't feel like they've been misled —— imagining Naruto now as Hokage he gets praised whenever he interacts with a citizen of Konoha or hell, even someone from a different village. He’s held to such a high standard considering power and influence and even just himself. He doesn’t lie about his stories or experiences to say, he more-so puts on a mask for every single person he talks to (I personally believe even his wife and his teammates) because he’s built this Naruto everyone sees ever since he first saved the village. “I’ll save everyone!” “You can all count on me!” but he’s never saved himself. The waterfall scene was so quick, such a quick resolution to something that’s bringing up his deep trauma, and all he does is bury it more. I’ve heard people say “he’s not doing that! he’s accepting it and growing with it!” and okay, i understand that view too. My own personal look on it is that he just... can’t do it all alone. Forgiving a village who have done nothing but hurt him and put stress on him when all they do is continue to pile stress on him (now with said paperwork and he barely gets to go home and spend time with his family,) sounds just terrible to me. I know it’s a meme to say it but god damn, Sasuke was right. Naruto shouldn’t have done shit they should have run away and become rogue together.
