Another awesome post from me: stop calling the contestants' distrust of poppy "corn racism" or variations thereof. They are afraid of poppy because of their close resemblance to the guy who almost forever killed all of them.

Also I think we maybe shouldn't be using racism as the punchline of a joke either

silly idea i had but au where, because they grew from cobs corpse pieces (combined with doughs shimmer energy or something??) poppy contains a piece of cobs soul. and as a result they hear cobs from beyond death

like being haunted but they can only hear him. maybe if theyre closer to cobs corpse (and thus the rest of his soul) they can sort of see his ghost too

im imagining a sort of darkstalker-moonwatcher from wings of fire dynamic (if anyone here has read that) where cobs realises his ability to speak to poppy could somehow grant him the chance at a second life if he can find a way to come back

they hear him from the moment they pop out of the ground. at first hes very disgruntled and grumpy and generally standoffish to poppy, because he just exploded and then woke up backseating to some random guy whos literally you but inverted and untraumatised. but then he realises this could be his ticket out of death so he starts being like nicey and offering guidance

poppy gets used to him and doesnt know who he is, which is why theyre a little put off when everyone tells them how awful and evil he was, they're like... what? because he's been generally very nice to them save for the seemingly reasonable upset about being dead

when they confront cobs about it, he twists the story to make it seem like he was just misunderstood— he wanted to "explore untouched scientific fields", and simply got too "carried away with progress". he treated the mephones and contestants like that because from his perspective they just weren't people; poppy did the same to bot, so they werent really that different!

its all made up bullshit to garner sympathy but it works on the naive poppy, who thinks that cobs just needed someone to reach out to him and show him where he went wrong!

i imagine this au would consist of cobs consistently giving poppy advice to advance in the game, like a SQUIP, making connections and manipulating them to get people eliminated and climb the ladder. he'd especially encourage them to make use of metag, who would fall back into old habits of submitting to cobs (or this cobs-like figure) without realising, and who cobs would feel entitled to using as the founder of meeple

at the same time, he'd probably convince poppy to construct a device which could use the shimmer energy to revive cobs, citing scientific progress and guilttripping poppy into giving him "the second chance he was denied"

it would be very fun if he ended up actually growing fond of them and seeing them as a protege/mini-cobs... only to feel horribly guilty when poppy finds out cobs true plan and how evil he actually is (probably intending to wipe out everyone save poppy and metag, and kill mephone4 and mephone3gs)

i don't know where the story would go from there though. and i don't have much faith in cobs to actually improve much as a person...

Okay so AGAIN with TPOT episodes being bashed on 🫩

First off, I see many, MANY, complaining about how the episode was a hard watch due to Four and the contestants acting like how they did in BFB.. when that was literally the point?? To go back and revisit?? I know that it wasn’t laid out in the best way and that the challenge didnt have much purpose, but the ENTIRE point of that episode was to have something chill before TPOT 19.

The whole reason WHY TPOT 18 was all over the place and messy is because it was meant to be something silly and lighthearted before the show changes. And I feel like people have been asking for BFB content so I don’t get why people are whining 💔 Like I said, it wasn’t executed well , but it’s still what you wanted?

I understand being confused on where things where going, I was too, but that still doesn’t make it a bad episode

ALSO FOUR BASICALLY CONFIRMED TO BE WORKING WITH ONE OH MY. GOD. I’m going to be on a cruise when the episode comes out 🫩🫩 I’m watching it the SECOND we get back to our port
